TUF Finalist Mike Ricci Released By UFC

Following his UFC 165 split-decision loss at the hands of Myles Jury, TUF 16 finalist and Tri-Star Gym team member, Mike Ricci has been released from his UFC contract.

The release comes on the heels of several announced cuts made by the world’s most recognized promotion this week. Ryan Couture, Yushin Okami, Benny Alloway, Papy Abedi and James Head all received their walking papers this week as well.

Ricci was just 1-2 under the UFC banner at the time of his release, with his lone victory coming by way of decision over Colin Fletcher at UFC 158 back in March.

    thank god they let this lame excuse for a fighter go. now he can take his tristar gameplan to the runway since thats where he belongs

    Long over due. Only reason Ricci was ever in the UFC in the first place is because he trains at tristar with GSP and ROIDY Mac

    Yeah wasn’t Okami a top 10 ranker? I might be wrong but I thought he was. Just tried to check the UFC website but the middleweight division mysteriously only has 9 ranks after the champ. Bizarre

    @dolce Champion(1), 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. It would then be a top 11 with another rank added.
