Tito Ortiz vs. Alexander Shlemenko set for Bellator 120 PPV

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz (16-11 MMA) will once again attempt to make his debut for Bellator Fighting Championships, as it was announced yesterday that he is scheduled to face the promotions current middleweight champion Alexander Shlemenko at the Bellator 120 pay-per-view this May.

The announcement was made by “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” himself during the Bellator 116 event on Spike TV, which took place just a few hours after “Storm” had called him out on social media.

Tito Ortiz has gone 1-6 in his past 7 mixed martial arts fights, with his lone victory coming over Ryan Bader back at UFC 132 in July of 2011. Tito’s last appearance came under the Zuffa banner at UFC 148, when he lost a unanimous decision to rival Forrest Griffin.

Meanwhile, Alexander Shlemenko is currently riding a 13-fight win-streak, with his latest victory coming over Brennan Ward at March’s Bellator 114 event. The Russian standout will be looking to add Tito’s name to his already impressive list of 50 victims.

The fight between Ortiz and Shlemenko will take place at light heavyweight (205-pounds).

Bellator 120 is headlined by a lightweight title bout between champ Eddie Alvarez and former division kingpin Michael Chandler. The evenings co-main event showcases Quinton Jackson taking on Muhammed Lawal in the final of the promotion’s light heavyweight tournament.
