Tito Ortiz To Be Inducted Into Hall of Fame Before Farewell Bout At UFC 148 | UFC NEWS

It seems as though Tito Ortiz’s inevitable induction into the UFC Hall Of Fame has to wait no longer. Prior to his upcoming bout against Forest Griffin at UFC 148, Ortiz will become the ninth person inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame.

After the UFC 150 press conference, Dana White spoke with reporters on Ortiz’s contributions and his history with the Huntington Beach Bad Boy.

“He pound for pound was doing some of the most damage at a time when we were hurting,” said White. “But it’s part of our history the way the storylines played out between me, Chuck and Tito. He’s definitely a part of the history of the sport.”

Ortiz will go into the hall at the UFC Fan expo the weekend of the UFC 148 event.

There has always been controversy surrounding the outspoken and popular fighter. There have been multiple stories of his beef with Dana White in the past and it has been well known Ortiz was not always easy to get along with.

When White was asked how their relationship is now, both White and Ortiz have seemed to grow up and move on from the situation.
“Yeah (we’re good),” said White. “I have no beef with Tito.”

Love him or hate him, Ortiz is a Hall of Famer and this is a very well deserved induction into a prestigious class.

never liked tito much. but always tuned into his fights. i realized how much i liked him deep down when he caught ryan bader with that right hand. i lost it. pleaded with the gods to allow tito to finish the choke. when bader tapped everyone went crazy. won of the most crowd pleasing wins in a long time. tito deserves the recognition. good for tito. only one Huntington beach badboy.

  5. Bjj BB says:

Not a fan of his fighting style but i always liked watching hos fights, he promoted the hell out of the ufc to da main streem fans so he gets all da respect in da world from me, as in him being a coward? We will never know da truth about what went down with liddle, he says he thought they were friends, liddle says he was scared, really who cares cause they fought twice at the perfect time the ufc needed it for the new fans of the sport, he is the 1st ground and pound champ and held the belt the longest in the lhw class for the longest time, he is 100% deserving of being in the hall of fame!! With guys like tito when it started getting popular we may not be mma fans yet!
