Tito Wants An Office Job | "It's my last fight after 15 years"

By Lorenzo Luciano:
MMA legend and pioneer Tito Ortiz speaking in an interview with MMAJUNKIE in Stockholm announced that his upcoming fight against Forest Griffin would be the last fight of his MMA career.
“It’s my last fight after 15 years, I don’t know what it’s going to feel like to walk out for the last time, step in the octagon for the last time, to walk out of the octagon for the last time. Honestly, man, I don’t know what to expect.”
The 37 year old Tito Ortiz has a mixed martial art record of 16-10-1 in a career with the UFC that started in 1997.
“Even signing a bout agreement, I realized that’s the last one,” he said. “It’s weird.”
Tito is scheduled to meet Forest Griffin at UFC 148 which is set to take place July 7th in Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena
“I think with everything I did, I made a mark,” he said. “I showed guys what a little hard work and inspiration can do.
At a time when the UFC was struggling, Tito was able to bring crowds to his fights through his self-promoting skills and in his battles with Chuck Liddell and others. He is a crowd pleaser whether in the role of villain or good guy.
“I’m thankful God gave me the gifts I’ve had. I could have done so many things – worse things – as a kid and a man in general. My parents being drug addicts, I look at it as, ‘Why am I sitting where I am today?’ I think it’s through hard work and dedication. It’s very inspiring toward people knowing you can achieve anything in this world as long as you stay focused and work super, super hard at it. I’m thankful for that.”
Tito is of Mexican American descent, born ‘Jacob Christopher Ortiz’; he received his nickname “Tito” meaning tyrant, by his Mexican father when he was one. Ortiz began wrestling in High School, and continued wrestling throughout college. His strong wrestling skill proved very beneficial in his MMA career.
“It’s still in my head,” he said. “I just turned 37. (Randy) Couture fought till he was 44 or 45. Do I want to do it, though? I just don’t have that hunger in me anymore. It’s a business to me now. It’s been a business since day one. It’s love for the fighting, but it’s always a business. But I’ve got three boys to take of now. … It’s time.”
Tito is married to former porn star Jenna Jameson, they have twin boys together. Tito also has another son from a previous marriage. Tito and Jenna have been together since 2006.
“ESPN just came to me and offered me a job as an analyst,” he said. “But I went to (UFC Chairman) Lorenzo (Fertitta) and told him, ‘I want to work for you guys.’ I want to work with the UFC. I started my career with the UFC. I never had an amateur career. I’ve been with the UFC since day one in 1997. I would love to end it with the UFC.”
When former rival Chuck Liddell retired the UFC offered the once feared striker an executive position for the organization as the Vice President of Business Development. Sounds like Tito would like the same kind of treatment from the UFC and hoping to finish his working days in the UFC offices.

I hope they give Tito a desk job right next to Chuck. I look forward to there funny videos.
exactly my first thoughts, LOL.
Tito can be Chucks executive Personal Assistant. Then they can start the filming for there reality show.
tito’s mother niggger
I ****ing hate how THIS is Titos last fight.
i ****ing love Tito and Forrest.
Tito thinks to highly of himself… He didn’t accomplish what Liddell, Hughes and Couture did for the UFC. They dominated the sport, Tito needs to appreciate the fact that they didn’t get rid of him 10 fights ago, cause he hadn’t done nothing since. He needs to stop acting like the UFC owes him the rest of his life.
they do owe him that.. that mofo ken, along with Tito, brought back the UFC from the brink of extinction. werent selling at all untill Tito had that “fued” with Ken.
UFC history broski.
Weeelll consideringhes the only light-heavy to defend his title 5 times i think thats good enough or tue fact thats he only fought top ten guys since he lost his belt to couturean ohh i dunno but thats the jest of it h paid his dues an hes been around an nvr left ufc to fight anywhere else unlike chuck who went to pride an lose hes one of the few who nvr left the ufc
Chuck went to pride representing the UFC lol he never left the UFC
You obviously haven’t been watching MMA long, kid. Tito was the UFC’s ace in the hole back when guys like Randy and Chuck were still trying to build their name. Tito’s the number one reason why the UFC survived the early dark days. Educate yourself.
uhhh. The tito and ken rivalry caused ALOT of attention that the UFC needed. AND tito is the longest reigning ufc light heavy weight champ. lol, If you just started watching UFC this year, please don’t start talking about the passed without doing a little bit of research first ATLEAST. Thanks for playing
ur not chuck
Tito hasn’t accomplished what they’ve accomplished? Tito Ortiz is the longest reigning LHW champion of all time to date. He’s plenty accomplished. A little past his prime, but DEFINITELY HoF worthy.
As a great man said once before nobody likes u tito lol chuck is a wise man lol
Tito I have news UFC Janitor is not a white collar desk job…
Was he ever in his prime??? I mean, he looked like prime rib getting cut up by Chuck Liddell at UFC 47 (not that I really like Liddell) His greatest “accomplishment” was landing Jenna Jameson…and more people/animals have landed on her than JFK airports landing strip. I mean, come on—really???
You guys that are bagging on Ortiz; to begin with you should go to school and learn how to spell.
Secondly none of you on here would last 3 minutes with Ortiz right now. Like has been mentioned previousl. Ortiz is the longest reigning LHW. He had 5 consecutive defenses.
He is one of the true founders of GNP.
You twerps on here are not worthy to lace his boots or wash his gym shorts. I mean he still teaches. Go out to his gym and step up. Please dont forget to get someone to post a vid for us and tell us where we can send the flowers.
Yes, you are correct sir—I am a twerp, but really, let’s at least try to be polite to each other. First off, I have been watching UFC since 1—The Beginning. (I doubt to you that matters) Second, you probably wouldn’t last a round with these fighters either, and no, neither would I, but that’s irrelevant. So is spelling, this is fighting. Ortiz was never respectful to his to his opponents (He did train fighters well in The Ultimate Fighter, I’ll give him that) He was never respectful to Dana (not that I liked Dana, but he was his boss, And by the way Dana did more for the sport than Tito)
i hope tito gets hired! i cant wait to piss in his coffee
no way tito gets hired, too hard to work with.
