Tim Kennedy Faces Trevor Smith in Oklahoma City Nov. 3 | Strikeforce News
Strikeforce officials on Thursday announced Tim Kennedy is booked to face Trevor Smith on Nov. 3. This match up is taking place in Chesapeake Energy Center Oklahoma City. The headliner was originally between Daniel Cormier and former UFC champ Frank Mir. Earlier this week, Mir suffered a knee injury and was pulled from the card. Cormier still is expected to fight in the main event while Strikeforce seeks Mir’s replacement.
Kennedy comes from a unanimous decision loss opposite Luke Rockhold on a Strikeforce Championship bout July 2012.
Smith has 10 wins, nine have come by submission, and eight in the first round. His only on submission was a 37-second knockout.
