Tim Boetsch | I Want To Be The Guy To Take Anderson Silva’s Title

“Chael showed a strong wrestler does well against him. The only thing that Chael failed to do was damage Anderson throughout the fight, and that’s kind of my specialty. I will deliver a high amount of damage from start to finish, and that would make a huge difference in the outcome of the fight. A lot of fighters out there are (scared). They think of him as an invincible superhero. If you’re thinking that way about your opponent, you’ve already lost. I think that’s what happens to a lot of guys. They lose that fight before they even get in the cage with him. I want Anderson to hold onto that belt until I get there. He is obviously a legend in the sport already. That being said, everybody has to lose eventually and I want to be the guy to take that belt from him. That’s been a dream of mine for a long time.”

Coming off of the biggest victory of his career against Yushin Okami, Tim “The Barbarian” Boetsch tells sherdog.com that he thinks he has the mentality and skillset to take out current champ, Anderson Silva.

Okami is one of the division’s elite fighters and Tim was able to take him out, but is he biting off more than he can chew with these claims?

    A man can dream

  7. John says:

  10. Chipo says:

Haha, he SA probably drunk When he said this. Stupid fat ass would get treated like Damian mia

  11. Dan the Lobstertail says:

    Your on crack blood!

  12. Xaninho says:

lol Boetsch does have a sense of humor, cause he can’t be serious can he?

  13. Jim says:

Okami destroyed you for two rounds before you got lucky. Anderson Silva de-stroyed Okami, and he would utterly murder you, Boetsch.

    • allmightysandman says:

LOL…exactly!! I don’t really recall seeing a “high amount of damage from start to finish” on Okami!

  14. UFC VIDEOS says:

honestly, i’d love to see this happen, just cuz it would flip the sport upside down.

  15. Matt says:

So if Boetsch got lucky with Okami in the final frame… Then that must mean Silva got lucky in the final frame against Sonnen. I don’t think Tim has what it takes to beat Silva either but let’s get our stories straight. You can’t say one guy got lucky after getting his ass beat an another guy is just that good. There are no “lucky” strikes or submissions. If a person tries to hit you or throw up a sub and it works… How is that lucky? The only lucky strike is the one you aren’t TRYING to land.

  16. Jason N says:

yea sure. A man must dream BIG i guess.

  17. A.James says:

Tim’s striking isn’t where Anderson’s is but the man can take a beating. Anything is possible.

  18. Dick Diaz says:

to even be considered a contender… you need to a flawless rise… right now, he’s not marketable nor has he proven much; no knock on Okami because that guy is tough.

  19. your mom says:

Give the man a break at least he isn’t a scared bitch and wants to get in there and give it all hes got. That is more than most of you little fags dogging him can say.

  20. the original steve says:

    so does every middleweight.

  21. MMAnalyst says:

is it considered ‘waiting’ if it’s never going to happen?

  22. TEVARUA says:

Tim, DAM..YOU MUST BE SNIFFING PAINT!!!! Go cut the lawn or something..you’ll never be the guy to give Anderson his first lost in the UFC!!!

  23. Steve Thomas says:

Yeah and I’m gonna beat Alistair Overeem…

  24. he won his last fight by luck says:

    my name

  25. Ninja Oreo Dollop says:

He is totally correct. One thing that Chael can say he has over every opponent that has faced Silva excluding Hendo is that they had a weak mental game. Look at what happened to Okami. He had the tools and choked under the pressure.

Having said that Tim would get put in a coffin.

  26. GRT 3000 says:

oh Tim, I guess you gotta say that shit nowadays to get those big fights and big money. but we all know that you know you’d get your ass kicked.

  27. sykoMMA says:

I think people aren’t giving Boetsch enough credit here. He has a fairly decent record overall and a very nice record at Middleweight, I am not saying he deserves a title shot right now, but in the future with a few more wins under his belt he could have the shot he is looking for. He has never been knocked out cold, and the only TKO was from a much larger Hammil. If he got in the cage and just pushed forward while maintaining some semblance of a guard he could land some big shots on Silva and put him on his back, and hopefully not Sonnen out at the end.

  28. jbeamazing says:

what do you want him to say he has no chance if he thinks that he is no real fighter he did he just ko the last guy to fight anderson and in that weak division I think him bisping and marky are the only contenders in the division that hasn’t got a L from anderson

  29. AK says:

This guy should fight Chris Weidman..
