Tim Boetsch | I Am Going To Smash Okami At UFC 144

“My initial reaction was really surprised to be completely honest. It was a huge step into competition. I was pretty surprised that they were giving me the chance to fight the top of the ladder so soon. I was like, ‘holy cow.’ I didn’t think I would move up that quickly, but at the same time I was excited because that’s where I want to be. I’ve always wanted to fight the best guys in the world… Certainly he’ll be the hometown favorite, but that’s always been one of the aspects I like. I always enjoy going into someone’s house and beating them in front of their crowd. He’s tough to fight anywhere, yet alone his own country where there won’t be any quit in him. Honestly, I could see myself fighting for the No.1 contender’s spot after this fight. I won’t get a title shot, but I see myself fighting for that spot very soon. But, before that can happen, everyone will get to see me smash Okami.”
Tim “The Barbarian” Boetsch took to Bleacherreport.com to state his case for victory this weekend against Yushin Okami at UFC 144.
After defeating Nick Ring in “The Barbarians” second middleweight appearance he now faces the crème of the crop, the monster at the top of his division, Yushin Okami.
Will Boetsch be able to rise to the occasion and cement himself as a middleweight elitist or will he fail at the hands of Japans most successful Mixed Martial Arts practitioner?

yeah, good luck with that…..
I want Boetsch to win…
yeah, good luck with that mate…..
im guessing that picture is from boetsch fighting at 205?? i cant remember seeing this guy fight.. but its hard to believe anyone other than sonnen or silva smashing okami.. i think this guy is 5′ 11″ .. okami 6′ 2″ .. i wonder if okami will be able to dictate the pace with his improved stand up..
can anyone give an impression on boetsch.. cause im in the dark here.. does he have good standup? wrestling?
shoulda changed my name before i posted.. was referring to sylvia .. the heavyweight douche bag.. not boetsch .. with the other name
He’s a wrestler with mediocre striking. Okami should school him. Got beat up at 205. Dropped to 185 n I think he’s got 1 win under his belt there.
its 2 cause he destroyed nick ring after beating kendall grove
thx guys.. looking forward to the fights
Their both about a even matchup, I’d say
I’ll believe it when I see it, and right now I’m not buying his hype.
WAR OKAMI!
I like that they’re giving Japanese fighters actual good fights instead of UFC 142 where they gave the Brazilian fighters fights they’re supposed to win. Then again Japanese fans are like 100x more respectful than the Brazilian ones so they won’t boo if the home guy loses. Okami will walk right through him though.
He looks more like the “Beerbarian”…..and I trademarked that, by the way
