Though Silva Shows No Interest Dana White Guarantees He Can Make Jones Fight Happen | UFC NEWS
“I know this, the Georges St-Pierre/(Anderson Silva) fight is a big fight. I think the Jon Jones fight is a big fight. And I know my man says, ‘no, no, no,’ but the amount of money that would be offered for that fight, I guarantee you, I will make Anderson Silva say, ‘yes, yes, yes’. I will fly down here, I will lock myself in a room with Jorge (Guimaraes), Ed Soares and (Anderson Silva) and I will make this fight.”
Dana White prides himself on his ability to make big fights happen, and right now a Jones vs. Silva fight is about as big as it gets.
While his middleweight champion Anderson Silva has proven time and time again that he can compete in the 205 pound division, Silva is set on leaving the upper weight class to his teammates.
During the UFC 153 post-fight press conference White told the media that Anderson Silva has a price and he is willing to pay the price and make the fight happen.
Can he?

If Dana can make this fight happen, he is the man! This fight is great for MMA UFC, & all fight fans. The stand up would be a slight edge to Jones due to reach, but they both have great speed and timing. The ground is obvious, Silva wins there. Make it happen Captain!
For years Me and countless other ppl wanted the Silva Vs. GSP fight.Now that ppl are talking about Silva vs. Jones I dont even care about Silva vs. GSP . Silva would win against GSP But Jones and him would be a close fight.

Ever so slightly, Dana gains more and more respect from me, personally i think hes a toadstool of a man, bashing fighters etc but lately I am siding with him just for the fact that he can make these fights happen. If he can do it, I’ll be eternally grateful, probably buy the next 10 PPVs. GO DANA
I watched the post fight interviews and yes he did say he would do whatever it takes to make this fight happen but Silva said the money isn’t what he cares about at all. Money isn’t going to make this fight happen… If anything White is going to let him fight in the judo Olympic games. That’s the one thing Silva wants more then anything right now. Also Silva nor White said Silva had a price, Those are words twisted to make it sound like he did.
Dana white always talks about these super fights but NEVER makes them happen. Stop TALKING Dana and MAKE IT HAPPEN.
He’ll keep talking about it for another year or two just to keep the hope alive.
BTW – Silva would work Jones, unless Jones can secure a submission.
