Thiago Tavares Out OF UFC on Fox 3 Bout With Ferguson | Michael Johnson In As Replacement

“The Ultimate Fighter” season 13 winner Tony Ferguson will now prepare for his third scheduled UFC on FOX 3 opponent.

After his original opponent, Dennis Hallman, was forced to withdraw with injury, Thiago Tavares agreed to take his place, however now it’s Tavares who has been forced to bow out and in for him comes “The Ultimate Fighter” season 12 runner up, Michael Johnson.

UFC on FOX 3 is set to take place in New Jersey from the IZOD Center in East Rutherford. In the headlining bout Nate Diaz will take on Jim Miller in what was originally marketed as a number one contender eliminator.

Ferguson comes into the fight riding a six-fight win streak, including three in the UFC. The Ultimate Fighter winner knocked out fellow finalist Ramsey Nijem to win the show then went on to break the jaw of Aaron Riley and outpoint Yves Edwards in his short UFC career.

Johnson has seen mixed results since entering the UFC in his post-Ultimate Fighter career. However, if he can win this fight it gives him his first ever UFC win streak and keeps him out of the “flip flop” zone.
