Thiago Tavares Fails UFC on FX 7 Drug Test: Tests Positive For Steroids, Suspended 9 Months | UFC NEWS

Zuffa, LLC, owner of the Ultimate Fighting Championship®, released the following statement today regarding drug test results from UFC on FX 7 that took place in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on January 19, 2013.
All 22 fighters on the UFC on FX 7 card were drug tested at the event and all fighters passed their drug tests with the exception of Thiago Tavares. The results for Tavares showed the presence of Drostanolone, an anabolic steroid and banned substance. Tavares has been informed that he will receive a 9-month suspension retroactive to the date of the event and that he must pass a drug test upon completion of the suspension before receiving clearance to compete again.
To dispel rumors that have been circulated, Zuffa wishes to clarify that Vitor Belfort’s drug test results were negative and did not indicate the presence of any performance enhancing drugs.
Belfort has been on a medically approved testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) regimen under the supervision of a medical doctor from the State of Nevada, after being diagnosed with hypogonadism, or low testosterone. The purpose of a medically administered TRT regimen is to allow patients with hypogonadism to maintain testosterone levels within a range that is normal for an adult male.

I’m so sick of these guys testing positive for anabolic steroids and claiming that they have/need TRT. Man up and compete the right way.
ssssss
Steroids, 8 months. Weed, 12 months.
12 months for 2nd time
your natural testosterone natural begins to go down with age in the 30′s that’s why you see more and more older veterans getting on it, Belfort is monitored by a doctor through the Nevada Athletic commission so he isn’t doing anything illegal… Tavares on the other hand, that was illegal… and I don’t understand how he can only get 9 months and weed get 12 that doesn’t make sense…. one is performance enhancing and the other one isn’t.
Belfort needs TRT because his early steroid use ****ed with his sistem
Thiago you idiot!
Everybody else in the UFC (or any professional sport) is juicing and you are dumb enough to get caught. Smarted up or hire a better pharmacist.
Must be such a blow to the ego to be on roids and still get ktfo….especially when it looks like Khabib or whatever the hell his name is isn’t juicing..
Hypogonadism is a direct side-effect of prolonged steroid abuse. Just saying…
Shut up you twit^^^. Where did you get your Medical Degree? Dumb ass if someones levels are low then TRT brings it up to normal. BTW it’s not the same as Anabolic Steroids. He tested positive many years ago. The guy is fighting into his late 30′s . Obviously you have never competed …..just saying you dumb ass. Apologize like the rest of the fools who bought the he was positive rumor and move on to something that you know about like …..well forget it you probably don’t know much of anything..TJ
Whats your deal bro? He is correct. Sorry to say. TRT = previous cheater. I cheat so I know. TRT and under doctors care is a way to make people think its ok. What really happens is they jack their levels high and lower the dose before the fight or go from longer esters to short fast acting. These are the facts.. Looks like TJ knows more than you.
I dont understand why these fighters do not understand the clearance rate of these anabolics. Also, you may be asked to to take a fight on short notice??? I don’t get these guys. Testosterone and HGH only. Know how and when to use it and prepare for the test.. I just don’t get it..
No he is wrong…..and for your information there is not one athlete out there or anyone else who hasn’t made stupid mistakes when they were younger or because they listened to the wrong person. That doesn’t make them a cheater. If you don’t want to see it in the sport then it should be made illegal or banned. It’s not because they can’t. Until that time people should just except it and move on. The guy is a legend and he has accomplished great things in the sport. He has the right people guiding him on how to do it so don’t hate on him. Don’t try to be medical and talk shit when none of us are doctors….
why is everybody trying to cheat nowadays & in almost every sport aswell, if you are not good enough to naturally compete then do not do it.. its ruining sport completely.
