Thiago Silva vs. Rafael Cavalcante moved from UFC 162 to UFC on FUEL TV 10 | UFC NEWS

This move made sense. Pitting two popular Brazilian fighters on a card that takes place in Brazil is a no-brainer. The Light Heavyweight fight between Silva (14-3, 2 NC) and Cavalcante (11-3, 1 NC) has been moved to the UFC on FUEL TV 10 event.

If there ever was a fighter who is on the hot seat it is Thiago Silva.  Having once been a serious Light Heavyweight title contender he has fallen off due to a variety of reasons. Having suffered his first loss by being KO’d at UFC 94 by Lyoto Machida, Silva has a very ugly record of 1-3, and 2 no contests. Both no contests Silva won but the result was overturned due to his drug test failure. A loss here would ensure the UFC cutting ties with the Blackzilian fighter.

Cavalcante is also coming off a victory that was changed to a no contest due to a failed drug test as well. The Strikeforce veteran is most likely also in a must-win situation. A loss following a suspension due to a drug test failure could make his cut a guarantee. Although, it would be a tough decision for Dana White considering Cavalcante is one of the more entertaining fighters to watch. None of his 15 fights has gone to a decision.

The UFC on FUEL TV 10 is scheduled for June 8th at the Paulo Sarasate Gymnasium in Fortaleza, Ceara, Brazil. The card has just 5 fights scheduled so far, with seven of the ten fighters being from Brazil. The card features the Main Event of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil season 2 coaches Fabricio Werdum vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.
