Thiago Alves | I Am Going To Break Martin Kampmann
“I know I’ve got the power and explosion advantage. We’re going to try and break Martin Kampmann. It doesn’t matter where the fight goes. It’s going to be my fight. I’m very concerned with what I’m going to do to him. I’m going to try to break him whether it’s in the stand-up or on the ground. I have all the respect in the world for Martin Kampmann and his camp, but I truly believe that I’m going to break him, it doesn’t matter where the fight goes.”
Slated to headline the UFC on FX 2 this week against Martin Kampmann, Thiago Alves tells mmaweekly.com that he is read to “break” his opponent in his return through the welterweight rankings.

Can’t see the breaking part happening because I’ve never seen Kampmann broken in any fight. In fact, I always thought the Paul Daley fight was stopped too quickly. Should be a good scrap.
Anyone commenting on Thiago’s weight needs to realize that ever since he was given the ultimatum about his weight, he has been fine and put on good performances.. so just relax and enjoy his fights…

I hope Alves wins decisively. I was so disappointed after he lost to Fitch a second time. Not only did he lose, he was brutal. Alves has tonnes of talent, but he just doesn’t seem to be thinking out there sometimes. It would be awesome to have him in the top 10 again! Kampmann is very talented too though. Will be great to see them in a 5 rounder!
