The Ultimate Fighter Brazil Episode 3 Results And Recap
The Ultimate Fighter Brazil returned for the third episode and with the Featherweight Division kicking off last week this week it is the debut of the middleweights. The show is available to watch online at www.TUF.tv if you have not been watching you can catch up there and look away now !
The episode started off with Vitor Belfort still in control of the fight picks after last weeks episode where Pepey beat Galeto in a fairly uneventful fight. Most fighters expected the choice of fight to be Daniel Sarafian or Cezar Mutante from team Belfort facing Massaranduba or Maccarao from team Wanderlei.
On arrival at the training centre Belfort congratulates both teams and last weeks fighters and discusses the importance of having principles to which Wanderlei claims in the confessional that he finds Belfort boring. The fight announcement for this week turns out to be Daniel Sarafian (7-2) facing Renee Forte (7-1) who have an intense stare down.
The episode then cuts to a scene in the house where the members of team Wanderlei are having a discussion lead by Pe De Chumbo taking about separating the rooms of the house into teams and also asking the team to work together and take the competition seriously by getting up earlier and working harder to which most agree. Team Belfort are relaxing together playing instruments and singing songs and seem to be building a good team atmosphere.
Before the fight current Heavy Weight Champion Junior Dos Santos arrives and meets & greets both teams and discusses his respect for both coaches and how he and many others cannot wait to see them face off against each other once again.
Fight Time Sarafian looks very focused and intense on the other hand Renee Forte is more relaxed awaiting the battle ahead.
ROUND 1 – Opens with Sarafian working his boxing skills and Renee Forte lands a solid leg kick , Forte manages to push forward in the clinch and put Sarafian on the fence and works in the clinch for some time , Sarafian who earlier described as a “War Tank” powers through Forte and gets the takedown Forte manages to get back to his feet and Sarafian lands some nice knees , Sarafian takes control for the rest of the round with some nice clinch work and takedowns.
(Round 1 Sarafian)
ROUND 2 – Sarafian continues the good work in the striking game and looks to be the more developed fighter in all aspects, Forte does not seem overly keen to engage with Sarafian , Sarafian again lands a takedown and Forte eventually manages to get back to his feet after a failed choke attempt , another takedown from Sarafian and Forte appears to be trying to work a sweep from half guard which fails and in a scramble with Forte trying to get back to his feet Sarafian steps over his head and takes his back in very impressive fashion and locks up a rear naked choke worthy of submission of the night on any UFC card !
(Winner via RNC Sarafian)
Team Belfort now moves to (2-0) and morale in the team is high. On the other hand Team Wanderlei coaches seem angry about their fighters performance mainly Rafael Corderio & Wanderlei himself Forte seems to be blaming his performance on having injured his foot in the first kick of the fight and seen to be icing it later back at the house. Back at the house Dos Santos also discusses with some members of team Wanderlei and coaches how Forte could have used movement a lot more.
