The UFC signs two European Heavyweights; one is an undefeated prospect!
The UFC Heavyweight division just got a much-needed upgrade in depth with the signing of two European fighters. Polish fighter Daniel Omielanczuk (15-3-1 MMA) is currently riding an 11-fight win streak. The other fighter signed is a 20-year-old Ukrainian prospect that already holds a record of 14-0.
The UFC Heavyweight division was starting to look pretty thin after the release/retirements of Phil De Fries, Lavar Johnson, Cheick Kongo, Shane Carwin, and Christian Morecraft. UFC made two great pick-ups though with these two European fighters.
Daniel Omielanczuk is a submission specialist but also has a competitive kickboxing background, with 9 of his victories coming by way of submission. The only problem is he has not been tested by top-level competition yet, and has almost entirely fought on small shows against regional competition.
The signing of Nikita Krylov is really going to make things interesting because he’s only 20 years old and has finished all 14 of his opponents. He has 9 wins by submission and 5 wins by KO/TKO which shows he is well rounded. Again though were going to have to see how he does against top-level competition like he will face in the UFC.
