i was sat watching it (in england) slighlty agog, thinkin munoz was a training partner of silva’s, thinking, he’s not going to like this, we know what he was like with Vitor who was supposedly a friend.
Yeah, I was pretty shocked by that too. He just blatantly called out a training partner, after getting hyped off a win over a gatekeeper (a very tough one, albeit). I found that very disrespectful, and I’m pretty sure AS found it disrespectful too. I’m pretty sure Munoz knew it would be taken as a sign of disrespect from the Black House team, but didn’t really care.
Munoz is not in Black House, and HAS trained with Anderson Silva but is not a training partner. How it is disrespectful to say that you think you deserve a title fight against the pound-for-pound fighter I will never know.

Sonnen V. Munoz….yeah, I think that settles all of the objections anyone can have. If Sonnen wins, he has a MUCH better case to say I beat 2 top MW guys in Stann and Munoz, and can actually say if you don’t want to fight me, then you’re certainly ducking me. If Munoz can be Sonnen, it means he’s legit.
And Soares cannot say that neither man has faced the best and not earned his way to title fight.
Sonnen, as much as I don’t like him, IS a contender now, but I always like to see a guy “re-earn” the spot after a loss like that. Mostly because it takes away ANY objections anyone might have about if a fighter has earned it or not.
Sonnen vs Munoz I agree with that, I think Munoz has a better chance at beating silva than sonnen does only because Munoz just doesn’t lay on you and throw little punches. Munoz throws power punches and he’s always improving his position when he’s on the ground. The only thing I see being a problem is Munoz trying to stand up with silva.
Well, for awhile there I was pullin for Sonnen, he was a beast. Then we found out about that TRT mess, and that changed my mind quickly about him, cheating is cheating. Not that I agree with the fact that Sonnen is back, but if they pit Sonnen against Munoz, I am almost positive that Sonnen will win. Do I think Sonnen deserves a shot against Silva at this very moment? No. Will he get it if he wins? Absolutely. It would be “considered” the most anticipated rematch of all time, by most.
I wouldn’t be too positive about Phael beating Munoz if I were you. Munoz has the high level wrestling to cancel out Sonnen’s use of wrestling to dominate his opponents, and Munoz has a much more vicious g&p game. It wouldn’t be wise to bet the farm on Sonnen in this one…
anderson and mark will still be friends. he’s not calling him out in a bad way. he just stated that he wants a shot, that’s all. i like both guys…and although i think that anderson would beat him rather handily, i do think munoz deserves the chance. could be a pretty good fight.
Munoz beats Anderson if they fight because of his wrestling. You can hate all you want but look at all the guys that have given Anderson big problems, they are all good wrestlers. Munoz also has major knock out power and great ground and pound. Munoz by stoppage.

Vitor wasn’t disrespectful either but you don’t try to take someone’s title that’s welcomed u into their gym and got you where you are today. Mark Munoz is the man!!! Considering how Anderson took everyone apart except Munoz and Bisping if… Bisping beats Miller than we should have a Munoz vs Bisping title contender match. No other fight is going to make more sense than Silva vs. Sonnen. vitor is preoccupied with Rumble at the moment too.
