Terry Etim Meets Edson Barboza At UFC 142

UFC 142 gets the addition of one more intriguing lightweight matchup and it comes in the form of Terry Etim vs. Edson Barboza.
UFC officials confirmed the news earlier this afternoon.
UFC 142 is expected to go down on Jan. 14 from Rio de Janeiro’s HSBC Arena. However, the event itself has yet to be officially announced by the UFC. On the card so far is a featherweight title fight between Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes.
Etim finally returned to action this month after an extended layoff that saw him on the sidelines for more than a year. The British fan favorite was able to take out his UFC 138 opponent, Eddie Faaloloto, in just 17 seconds of the very first round via submission. The victory joins his other five UFC successes and makes him 6-3 since entering the UFC, including a 5-1 stint in his last six contests.
Barboza is a stern test for the Brit. He is an undefeated prospect who has gone 3-0 in the UFC since starting with the promotion last November. He was last seen in action in a gutsy victory over Ross Pearson at UFC 134 where he was able to outpoint “The Ultimate Fighter” winner and win via split-decision.

Should be a good fight. Both are very explosive. They both have good hands and good groundwork. Gotta go with Barboza though I think he has the edge in the striking. Terry better look to go to the ground quick or Barboza might just pick him apart.
Barboza will have to get inside that long reach of Etim’s if he wants to strike.I don’t see Etim going for a takedown. But Barboza has the more technical striking.I think Barboza takes this one.
Etim is a beast so glad he made a return to the ufc. I got him winning by sub.
Yeah, he’s definitely a beast. Woulda thought he would be contending for the title by now, though. This is gonna be a helluva scrap
