Tank Abbott Returns to the Cage | MMA NEWS
47 year-old Tank Abbott is slated to make his return to professional fighting at King of the Cage’s April 13 fight, dubbed “Fighting Legends.” After a three-year absence from fighting, Abbott (10-14) will face fellow heavyweight, Ruben “Warpath” Viallareal (20-25-3), in the headline fight. Tank Abbott is perhaps best known for his days in the early UFC tournaments and his more recent EliteXC fight against internet sensation, Kimbo Slice. Abbott’s last fight resulted in a 29-second KO of Mike Bourke in February of 2009. His opponent, Warpath, has fought some notable fighters such as Bas Rutten, current UFC top contender, Antonio “Big Foot” Silva, and former UFC stars, Don Fry and Dan Severns. He is coming off two consecutive losses in the spring of 2012.
The two will meet in the main event of the KOTC card at the Gold Country Casino in Oroville, CA on April 13. Also on the card will be a light heavyweight title fight between champion, Trevor Prangley, and challenger, Dan Molina. KOTC released a promo for this fight on their Facebook page earlier this week.
