Swanson vs. Lamas Booked For UFC on FOX 1

The second bout booked for the UFC’s debut card on FOX TV comes in the form of a featherweight bout between Cub Swanson and Ricardo Lamas.
UFC officials took to twitter with the news over the weekend.
UFC on Fox 1 is set to take place from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California on November 12. Headlined by a heavyweight title fight between champion, Cain Velasquez and contender, Junior Dos Santos the event marks the first UFC event on the network and the start of a 7-year broadcast deal between the two sports powerhouses.
Swanson is a longtime staple of the featherweight division, with most of his notable experience coming way of the WEC promotion. After being put on the shelf for the better part of a year with multiple injuries, the Greg Jackson-trained fighter will make his return and try to notch his fifth victory in his past seven fights.
Lamas is also a WEC import, however he contested his WEC bouts in the 155 pound division prior to making the drop to featherweight. He was last seen scoring a first-round TKO over Matt Grice during the UFC on Versus 4 prelims. The win marked his fourth in five fights.
At the moment the UFC’s debut on network television is only guaranteed to host the main event of the evening, however UFC officials have stated that they will try to get in two bouts on the live portion of the special.
The Swanson vs. Lamas bout is likely slated for the preliminary portion of the evening and will likely stream on-line of be televised on a Fox partner station.
