Miesha Tate | Ronda Basically Tore Everything In My Arm
“I haven’t got any clearance from the doctors yet. I’m going in for my two month checkup here in a minute. But you know the arm is doing really well. Definitely beating any predictions as far as my recovery. So I’m really anxious to get back in there. I basically tore everything. I tore the inner and outer sides of my ligaments attached to the muscles and bone. They actually pulled the bone off with the ligament and then I tore all the muscles around that. So it was pretty bad, but you know to me it wasn’t really that bad. I think that, I have the motto that as long as you get up one more time than you fall down then you are doing something right. So I’ll be back stronger than ever.”

nasty armbar. At least her bicep didn’t roll up. Seen that happen during rolling in practice.
I remember spotting a buddy of mine on bench at the gym once and watching his pec just curl up into his collar bone area he tore it so bad. Crazy thing was he wasn’t maxing or anything it was only like 185lbs. Tearing muscles is nasty business.
I’ve heard that happen to people who ‘bounce’ the weights off their chest.
i think she means “ronda tore everything in my arm ” – not “I tore everything in my arm”
I thought that was funny too. Don’t give credulous where credit is due. Ronda messed you up bad lol
Actually, she did tear everything in her arm by not tapping. Had she tapped, her arm would be fine. Ronda did the right thing and waited for the tap or the ref.
Next time, tap.
Yep, that’s what I was thinking too.
I’d tear up her cha cha
Tettasssss
To bad thy dont got any
dude meisha tate is effing delusional
Poor Miesha. She should have tapped TBH. Live to fight another day. Her arm will probably never truly be the same after that.
Ronda Rousey not only took her belt… she took her soul.
That’s my philosophy on the subject as well. She should have tapped to fight in a rematch. Her arm will never be the same.
Meisha is smoking…………some sh!T – must be high on something to try and take ownership of her arm, the only ownership shits gets for it, is that she went in the octagon to fight Ronda! Obvious mistake, because if she wouldn’t have been in denial about Ronda submission abilities she wouldn’t be stuck with only a memory of what her arm used to be. Ronda made her look like she had a GI Joe action figure arm.
Her own dumb ass fault she didn’t tap. She’d already be back in there.
Hardly matters, though. As long as Rhonda is there she’s never earning back that strap.
You ppl are so damn stupid with your coments it is her ownership she did not tap when she should have you idiots wouldn’t last 1 round with rousy if you even had the balls to get in the cage in the first place know your roll and at least act like you a little class
Buddy I don’t think any of us think we could hang with the new champ in the cage. That, however, doesn’t mean that we can’t understand the value of tapping and saving yourself from severe injury. Just like you don’t have to be a professional football player to understand that it’s stupid to lead with your head down. The fight was over once such a tight armbar position was achieved…Tate should have tapped.
What happens when someone can defend her armbar? I’ll tell you. She will lose..I’m not impressed by her striking at all. Yes she’s a real athlete and yes she deserves the belt but with only one trick up her sleeve “the armbar” she won’t have longevity as the champ I don’t think. Every win is by armbar. Fighters evolve and become hip to fighters doing the same things over and over again.
You do realize Ronda is an olympic level Judoka right? As of 2008 there were only 2 people in the world that could defend her submissions (the silver and gold medalist). She’s been tapping people out who are the best in the world for a very long time. If ever someone can defend her armbar then I’m sure she’ll go for a different submission, or a good old fashioned tko. She could have easily tko’d Tate with a few more strikes.
her submissions skills would be useless against any BJJ blackbelt. You obviously don’t know much about the sport of judo if you are saying only 2 people in the world could defend her submissions. Judo is more about the throws, and hell leg locks arent even practiced in it. Not saying judo isn’t a good martial art, but i bet a strong female BJJ black belt could beat ronda on the ground quite easily. Jake shields nearly submitted akiyama in their fight when it went to the ground. Thats what happens when an elite level judoka ends up on the ground with an elite BJJ fighter…
Keep dreaming Miesha..Only one you will be beating up is your GF Bryan.
She may may think that arm will be as strong as ever but it won’t. That arm will always haunt her and be weak. Her opponents won’t hesitate to go after it. Kind of like Jon Jones has went after everyone of his opponents knees who have had recent surguries trying his hardest to stomp out the ligaments to Rampage, Shogun, Rashad. Only knee Jones wasn’t able to buckle was Machidas but he really tried to ruin Machidas knees to.
Miesha prob used up her only chance ever to beat Rousey cause she had such a huge advantage in striking which was her only chance and by the time they ever fight again Rousey will have that hole in her game fixed and her Judo will always be off the charts.
I don’t think Tate has much of a case for a rematch anyways.
Yeah well I didn’t think Frankie had much of a case either.
That’s true about Jones kicking the knees of his opponents. Also alot of Rampage’s opponents have targeted his knees… Rashad, Forrest, Jones…. Probably not Bader if he knew he re injured it. Common knowledge that he has bad knees.
Not sure how they would target Tate’s weak arm though besides an submission attempt but they will target it. She’s gonna regret not tapping, I think she would have been better off breaking the arm rather than tearing all the ligaments and tendons.
Dont kid yourself, “i didnt tore anything” …Ronda did
