Strikeforce Challengers 19 Medical Suspensions

Eleven fighters from last week’s Strikeforce Challengers 19 event have received medical suspensions from the Nevada State Athletic Commission, five of which could face extended layoffs exceeding six months or longer.
Strikeforce Challengers 19 took place this past Friday, September 23 from The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas and aired for free on Showtime to subscribers.
The full list of Strikeforce Challengers 19 suspensions included:
• Nick Rossborough: Suspended until Oct. 24 with no contact during training until Oct. 15 due to a forehead laceration
• Shawn Jordan: Suspended indefinitely unless third metacarpal on left hand is cleared by an X-ray; if broken, must be cleared by an orthopedic doctor
• Lavar Johnson: Suspended until March 23 due to right-elbow and right-knee injuries, though he can be cleared early by an orthopedic doctor; regardless, suspended until Oct. 15 with no contact until Oct. 8 for precautionary reasons
• Ryan Couture: Suspended until Nov. 6 with no contact until Oct. 24 due to three forehead lacerations
• Todd Moore: Suspended until Oct. 24 with no contact until Oct. 15 due to a scalp laceration
• Brian Melancon: Suspended until March 23 unless the first finger on his right hand is cleared by an X-ray
• James Terry: Suspended until Oct. 24 with no contact until Oct. 15 due to left-eyebrow and lower-right-eye lacerations
• Magno Almeida: Suspended until March 23 if X-rays show a left-wrist fracture; if fractured, he can be cleared early by an orthopedic doctor
• Bobby Green: Suspended indefinitely due to left hand (fourth and fifth metacarpal) and right hand (third metacarpal) injures, though he can be cleared early by a doctor
• Quinn Mulhern: Suspended until Nov. 6 with no contact until Oct. 24 due to a scalp laceration
• Danny Davis: Suspended until Oct. 24 with no contact during training until Oct. 15 for precautionary reasons
