Stephan Bonnar Ready To Retire Unless Given Big Fight | UFC NEWS
UFC on Fuel TV 4 post fight interview “Stephan The American Psycho” Bonnar expresses interest in coaching opposite Forrest Griffin on TUF or at least a big name. The American Psycho clearly states he has no desire to be a stepping stone by fighting the next ‘big thing before the world notices the talent the guy has’
“ I’ve been doing this eleven years, and I’ve been through the ringer. So I promised myself I’d put a nice streak together, and I said if I want my last fight, I’m gonna go back in there against someone with a lot of Twitter followers.
The story of my career has been fighting a lot of the best guys right before they got on top, you know. So I said, ‘Hey, if I can’t get that big marquee fight then yeah, it’s God’s way of telling me to go do something else for a while. Enlightenment is a quiet acceptance of what is.
I really thought I could campaign hard for me and Forrest to be coaches [of TUF] because we’re entertainingly bizarre to say the least. I think it would be entertaining and of course we’ll beat the hell out of each other until the end,” says Bonnar.
To clear it up Bonnar states:
“Maybe I’ll still fight Forrest. There’s a chance Rampage wants to fight again – that’s the fight I’d really want to do but hey if he doesn’t have a lot of twitter followers then maybe it’s God’s way of saying go do something else.”
“I have no interest in fighting the next big thing, before the world notices the talent the guy has. [referring to his fight against Jon Jones and Mark Coleman] I have done that too much in my career. If it’s not meant to be for us to be coaches, I’ve got to accept that and move on. That’s fine with me.”

Forrest and bonnar: TUF the comeback part 2
Coaches or cast?
Always respected Bonnar. Like his personality and he always brings it. ~Bob’O
Bonnar vs franklin make it happen
That would be a good one, but Franklin went back down to MW
Forrest vs Bonnar!!!! World War! Make
it happen!
TUF with Bonnar and Griffin as coach will bring in the ratings.
Bonnar vs. Nope Silva
quit obsessing. & get your brain straight you called him the Great Silva a couple of days ago. He won, he’s the best, wrestling sux, and so does Chael…it’s time to move on.
Silva is Great…I just think he is a douchebag too. Is there anything wrong with that? He is scared to fight Jones. So just accept it and move on…..Ask Dos Anjos how much WRESTLING SUX??? rofl…
It doesn’t make any sense to fight him though; Silva is 38 and at the end of his career, Jones is 24 and just beginning. And you heard Jones, they both lose out if they fight each other. Plus they are in two different weight classes. It’s a common sense decision and a business decision.
& no wrestling doesn’t suck (I wrestled for years), but it doesn’t ****in’ rule either. It’s one component of MMA and super boring to watch if that’s all a fighter can do.
Ask Chael is Wrestling Rules!!!! I just rofl too!
Franklin just moved down for that fight thats why it was a catch weight. As for bonnar he shouldnt get a big name hes done nothing relevent in the last bit as a LHW.
didn’t get finished by Jones that’s preary big imo
He’s on a three-fight win streak against some pretty decent fighters. Aside from that, have you ever seen a Stephan Bonnar fight that wasn’t entertaining? Regardless of a win or loss, the guy is a blood mess at the end of just about every one of his fights. Tito lost, what 6/7, and he wanted Forrest. He got it. I’m not saying Bonnar has done as much for the sport as Tito, but the TUF 1 finale did wonders for the whole MMA scene. He most certainly deserves to fight a big name.
I respect the shit out of this dude and dana white shouldve made him and forrest coaches shame on you dana ****ing white!
Forrest!!! I think bonnar won the first fight and Forrest the second. Rubbermatch!!!!
Hey Bonnar you dummy, I watch a whole lot of UFC fights but I have never never given two shits about twitter. It’s the skills I care about, sorry to say but with you it’s just your heart in a fight that keeps me watching
Throw Jones to Bonnar, he’s probably the only one that will go out and fight the champ plus there ain’t really any LHW that deserve a shot at the moment besides MAYBE Henderson! Just an opinion!
hes pretty much saying he wants to lose to someone bigger than someone small so he can get paid more. this guys a clown and he will never win.. forrrest made him famous
I think that what Bonnar really needs (and he already said it), is a big money fight.
And I think that he deserves it
I hope Zuffa staff will give him a fight where he’ll be able to make 250 000 $, so that he can move on in life
Maybe against Sonnen, that would sell some tickets!
he’s on a three fight win streak right now; so it’d be a good time for him to retired. i’d really like to see the conclusion of a trilogy though.
