Stann to replace Rogan in the UFC 163 booth
UFC 163 will have a different flavor to it.
Recently retired Brian Stann will replace regular analyst Joe Rogan for the event.
UFC 163 will be held Aug. 3 at HSBC Arena in Rio de Janerio. Stann, a former UFC middleweight who retired in early July, will team with Mike Goldberg for the call.
The news was announced on Tuesday’s edition of “UFC Tonight.”
Stann let it be known just two days after his retirement of a broadcast deal with FOX Sports South that will have him working as a member of the coverage crew for Atlantic Coast Conference football.
Stann has done plenty as analyst already for the company, working the booth for FOX and FUEL TV’.
UFC 163 features a featherweight title fight between champion Jose Aldo and “The Korean Zombie,” Chan Sung Jung.
Stann, a former WEC champion, finished his career 12-6 and was 6-5 in the UFC.
It is being reported as a one-time only but let’s hope this isn’t a sign of things to come and Rogan will remain at the analyst helm for the bulk of the pay-per-view coverage.
