Spotlight On The Pre-Press Conference | Summary Of Today's UFC on FUEL TV 2 Event (W/ Video)

By Sarah Newman:
We are back people! I don’t know about you but I hate that long March break!
Today the UFC held their first pre-fight press conference in over a month and it delivered the entertaining commentary we have all grown to love.
We start with a very entertaining and funny Alessio Sakara, he is asked what he looks forward with fighting Brian Stann on Saturday. Sakara says “he has fought a lot of tough fighters but he (Stann) is very tough… he loves to fight when a fighter is a striker, be bo bum.”
Brian Stann is than asked if he thinks he is born with a strong chin or if he has developed one. I personally think this question is ridiculous, any one with common sense knows the more head injuries a person has the easier they are to knock out. Brian Stann agrees his response is “you can’t really develop a chin, in fact I believe the harder you work at a better chin you degrade it. To many fighters are leaving the chin in the gym, they spare so hard in training and then wonder how they are knocked out in the fight, Your brain can only take so much”
Stann is known for his stand up and 68% percent of his fights go that way, Sakara looks like he can go either way and seems excited to have a boxing match. Looks like we are going to have a war on our hands with that one. I’m going to go with Stann in the second round by knockout.
Alexander Gustaffson is asked if he is ready for the title shot with Jon Jones. Where he politely say “He isn’t thinking about Jones he is focusing on this fight.
Thiago Silva in sunglasses is asked how he is doing on weight. He claims he is only over 3lbs over weight at this point. He say’s he’s learned in training to keep his weight down and to keep his body in shape so he doesn’t have to cut weight.
The main event is an interesting one, this is Thiagos return after a year off for injecting something into his spine. With the best cover up ever “a pee sample inconsistent with human urine.” Bets on if it was horse cattle or shark??? In the wake of the Overeem testing positive with enough testosterone as 14 men, I’m sure people are going to be analyzing Silva’s fighting. The matchup itself is going to be a good watch the hometown hero Gustafasson standing 6’5 against Silva’s 6’1 and submission expert against striker. If Gustafasson gets him down with those spider like limbs I think it may be over. But Silva’s got a lot to prove with his last two fights being losses. It’s going to be a good one. I’m going to go with Gustafasson in the 2nd with a rear naked choke.. (I just like that one)

Thanks for the read, Sarah Newman. Good to finally have the fights back!
Thank god its Fight Week.
AMEN!!!
Wow, Thiago sure looks skinnier when he’s not all roided out.
Just one thing, technically isn’t Thiago the better at bjj? Thought he was a black belt, and Gustaffson was a purple? Also isn’t Gustaffson’s background in amateur boxing?
Personally I think on the feet it’s pretty even and on the ground I would give it to Thiago.
