Siyar Bahadurzada has signed with the Blackzilian camp. Glenn Robinson the manager of the team confirmed the news. The move will also see Siyar reunited with former Golden Glory teammate Alistair Overeem.
Here is what Bahadurzada had to say in an interview with Fighters Only.
“I'm so excited to be in South Florida with Team JACO and to train with the Blackzilians on a daily basis," said Bahadurzada. “If you think of a MMA dream team you would think American wrestlers, Brazilian grapplers and Dutch strikers in one team, and the Blackzilians here in South Florida offer this kind of sparring partners."
“Training with guys like Alistair Overeem, Rashad Evans, Tyrone Spong, Jorge Santiago, Gesias Calvacante and Melvin Guillard is exactly what I need to become the welterweight champion of the world. Glenn Robinson is a great man with great intentions for his athletes and I trust him and I know he is doing everything possible to set all of us up for success now and in the future.”
Blackzilian manager Glenn Robinson also commented on the signing.
“being from Afghanistan, his upbringing is unlike that of any other fighter. He's slightly crazy and not afraid of anything because of where he's from and the things he's seen. He is going to storm his way through the welterweight division and quickly become one of the biggest names in the UFC.”
