Show me the “Money”, Please!
Top Rank’s main man Bob Arum has gotten extremely vocal lately regarding undefeated WBC Welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (42-0 26ko) and his constant dodge around setting his name on a contract to face P4P great and 8 time champion Manny Pacquiao (53-3-2 38ko).
Recently Arum was quoted as stating that the fight was all but ready to go in Singapore!
“We had some rich guys from Singapore who wanted to do Mayweather-Pacquiao. They wanted to host the fight,”
Even the attempt by Arum to convince Floyd it was a good opportunity met with a contemptuous racial “Moneyism” according to Arum.
“Of course, these guys are Chinese, not Filipino, but Mayweather said, ‘No, they are all the same, they are all Asians and all Asians are the same.”
During the recent media day at the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles, Arum added insult to injury with his insistence that the time for dealing on this fight may be past.
“That fight will never, ever happen,” Arum said. “Ever, ever happen because of Mayweather.

WOW, i can’t believe i’m saying this, BUT if anyone is gonna beat Mayweather or Pacquaio before they both retire it’s one of the other. Mayweather not that great a fighter??? are you serious with that statment? he’s a much better BOXER than Pacquaio, much better, his defense, speed, accuracy, footwork……UNRIVALED!!! well Pacquiao cna match his speed if not better it, but I dont see Manny winning that fight, on the other hand i can say Manny would be able to finish Mayweather if he were to catch him early. Floyd is way too good at not getting hit, he could out point Manny any night of the week, BUT i think if Manny came out hard and fast he could overwhelm Floyd and KO/TKO him. But if Manny gets stuck swinging at air for 12 rds he’ll lose that fight. i hate Floyd too but dont say “if you know anything about boxing then you know what i mean” Clearly you don’t know anything about boxing. Andre Ward, Ali, Tyson, Sugar Ray, Foreman, Klischko bros, Lewis, Chavez, De La Hoya, Toney, Diaz, Smith, Parillo, all have gone on record and stated the Floyd mayweather is the best BOXER in the world….manny would have to turn that boxing match into a fight to win becuz Manny is a good fighter, Boxing wise, where the points and judges matter, Floyd is the greatest boxer! educate yourself on this dying sport, jus becuz you’ve watched Boxing over the last 10 years doens’t mean you understand boxing, you prolly know more MMA fighters names than boxers. Boxers sont come around liek Manny and Floyd, but to compare them is like comparing a LW Champion and the HW Champion, a completely different skill set and styles.Manny is a fighter born and raised, Floyd is a Boxer before he was born……..apples and oranges.

I’ll tell ya what’ll happen if they both retire… there will be a new crop of mixed martial artists with boxing based skill sets.
Unless there is a trilogy, after they fight boxing will be dead. But, I doubt Floyd would do it unless he lost the first bout. Pac wants to retire in a couple years and its a situation where boxing could die now or later because all of a lot of the stars are aging and speaking of retirement. I hope UCF doesn’t get that way. We lost Chuck, Randy, Matt most recently…

Manny agreed to the drug test twice but he kept making more demands everytime Manny would agree to his terms. So they eventually scratched it.

people are so wrong it is not maywether fault for this fight not happening..many times he has tryd to make it happen and duckmenow always finds aa reason not to take the proper drug test…even now pacman is ready to fight but arum is afraid..arum dont want pacman fighting cuz his only big name fighter is pacman and after floyd beats him the hype is gone..anyone who really knows boxing knows floyd would smash pacman…floyd has trouble with lefty but his defnce is to good and slick for pacman…and pacman always gets hit to land punches..an mayweather hits an dont get hit…it would be long night for pacan..not to mention arum almost will never cross promote and all companys like golden boy and others are starting complain about tht to,,,bob calls ufc a monipoly but he wont work with any other promotions
