Shogun tops UFC on FOX 4 salaries | UFC News

By: Chris Taylor

Two former UFC light-heavyweight champions led the payroll at last Saturday’s UFC on FOX 4 event, as Mauricio “Shogun” Rua ($240,000) and Lyoto Machida ($200,000) combined for 46 percent of the events $963,000 payroll.

The main event of the evening proved to be very entertaining as Shogun Rua stopped Brandon Vera ($70,000) via fourth-round TKO. However, it was the knockout delivered by Lyoto Machida in the co-main event of the evening that most impressed Dana White. The UFC President granted “The Dragon” a title shot for his second-round KO of top contender Ryan Bader ($47,000).
