Shogun Rua Using Past Glories For Future Motivation

“Remembering my glories is wonderful, makes me feel good, and gives me more will to live up to that again. It was an indescribable sensation; there are no words for it, especially because I got to achieve the dream of any fighter, which was to be both a UFC and PRIDE FC champion.”

Former UFC light-heavyweight champion, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, is in what some would call, the downside of his career. Having captured championships in the sports to largest promotions he feels that trying to live up to his old status can fuel him to succeed today.

Can the Shogun of old return?

Unfortunately, watching his pride fights to his UFC fights you can see the lack of motivation or will to be as a brutal and dominate fighter as he once was… He was one of the best p4p fighters in the world. We need to see his full arsenal of muay thai, rather than throwing over hand rights and giant left hooks hoping to land the one shot KO. I want to see this guy hungry again and to see him completely dominate and decimate his competition.

If Head stomps where allowed in the ufc i’m sure shogun or wandy would be the title holders lol… Bring back the skullcrushers!!!!

Shogun is my favorite fighter and always will be. I would love for him to become a dominant champion again, but I think his prime is passed. He’s had a great run and I hope for the best. Hopefully he can get some great fights in before retires.
