Shields Responds To Woodley: ‘He doesn’t hit harder than Hendo’

“I definitely think I could withstand his (Woodley’s) punches. I mean, anything is possible, there could be a flash knockout with those little gloves, so of course anyone can be knocked out, but I think I could take it. I’ve taken Henderson’s biggest right hand he could throw. I think Woodley hits hard, but I don’t think he hits as hard as Henderson does.”

Ever since this fight was announced, Tryon Woodley has been on a campaign stating to several media outlets that he is going to destroy Jake Shields.

Jake finally responds to one of the claims in his most recent interview with bloodyelbow, reminding Woodley and the fans that he took heavy shots from Dan Henderson and still managed to obtain victory in the bout.

one thing i’ve learned about jake shields is to never count him out. although i am not his biggest fan, he still gets in there and is one tough fighter. however, i think tyron has the advantage with his athleticism, power, better standup and higher wrestling pedigree. once it gets to the ground, though, it’s a different story entirely.

  2. dana black says:

does he hit as hard as ellenberger?

  3. Dddddddd says:

I don’t know Jake. Tyrone can nuke him if he gets the chance but somtimes he doesn’t pull trigger. I think it’ll be whoever has a good night but If this fight makes Jake look uncoordinated again I feel he’s on the backside.

  4. 757 says:

Shields out wrestled Hendo for sure. He is a reat wrestler and if he isn’t as good as Woodley he makes up for it with world class BJJ. Woodley by ko or he will get choked.
