Shane Carwin Talks Recovery From Surgery & Returning To UFC | UFC News

By Jamie McAllister
UFC Heavyweight Shane Carwin talks positively about his recovery from surgery and returning to the UFC while on HDNet’s ‘Inside MMA’

Carwin who has not competed since his defeat to now Champion Junior Dos Santos at UFC 131 which was in June 2011.

“The first thing, and this is something I’ve shared with my wife and family, is my love for the sport. This is what I love to do, and it’s something I’m very passionate about. I’m chasing my dream. I’ll see my surgeon, and I think it’s 100 percent, most likely, that I’ll be cleared. What’s going on right now is the nerves in my legs are regenerating from the surgery I had in my mid-back. It was the T-10 through T-11. A bulging disc, ruptured disc, compressed spinal cord. It’s tough to come back from, but I’m excited, and the surgeon has been very positive. One of my concerns is, how is this gonna affect me when I’m 65? Am I still gonna be able to be healthy and move around? He said, with 100 percent assurance, that I’ll be fine. If the doctor said it was a definite risk to my health, yeah, I have a family. I have two kids. I have a loving wife at home, and that’s the most important thing to me is my family.”

It’s about time we see you back in there Carwin! I’ve wanted you to be the champion since 2010. It’s time for another run! Couple of decent wins and Carwin will be back in there with the big boys.

was just thinking to myself the other day about carwin and was like he must of retired or soemthing because its been like 2 years or a little less since he fought haha i was like did jds shadely kill carwin somehow and nobody is talking about it?

  7. Sheyne says:

Carwin should retire unless he really can’t make good money another way. He doesn’t have a legit shot to win the title anymore

  8. monkey juice says:

Carwin is done. He’s lost his “eye of the tiger”. Like chuck, randy, rampage, noguera, Tito, kOs, bj, fedor, etc. these guys are fucking done. 32-35yrs old is when guys start to break or are broken. Freaks with great genetics can push it (randy) but not normal human beings.

  9. Seedy says:

Can’t fucken wait for did CUNT…
