Sexist Much? Matt Brown Wants UFC Women To Fight Topless For Dollars On UFC PPV’s

“The whole fight we have women in one room, men in another room,” says Brown as transcribed by MMA fighting. “Rousey and Miesha come on and all the women just fucking gather around the TV like it’s the fucking Kardashians coming on.”

“I always said, ‘I don’t know why they put women in the UFC.’ Now I know why… I just think this, if I’m to pay $60 for a Pay-Per-View to watch women fight they should at least be topless.”

“How many knockouts do you see in women’s fights? It’s not really my thing, I respect what they do, but look, they don’t have the body type or the power, all that s—, for knockouts. If you’re not a good grappler in women’s MMA then you’re behind. It’s no different than the 125 division of men’s MMA in that they’re just really not built for knockouts.”

UFC welterweight fighter Matt Brown has a really surprising stance on Women’s MMA and someone gave this man his own podcast to talk about it.

Anyone as shocked as I am? Or do you agree with the Columbus Ohioan’s opinion on the subject?

wow this guy is a dick

  2. Mara says:

So, it’s true that women’s MMA is all about submissions — anyone who watches would know that. But I’ve seen non-KO fights from both genders and in all weight classes. I’ve got no less love for these athletes and what they get into the octagon to do. Additionally, as a woman, I don’t feel like male fighters need to flash their junk to earn my $60… That would be disrespecting the sport and an all-around ignorant thing to say.
    Take note, Matt Brown.

i just think its kinda far… equal rights… men fight topless. why do they get to wear tops and tshirts.

  4. bad to the bone says:

Maybe he’s feeling a bit threatened…considering the ONLY thing worth watching the other night was the women’s fight. the rest? Total snooze-fest.

  5. Brett Martin says:

It was not that long ago that Dana White said he did not think women should fight, if you are a true UFC fan you will remember that comment. I love watching women fight in the UFC, glad Dana changed his mind. As far as Matt Brown goes, he’s welcome to his opinion. Brown is not the UFC president either so who cares, it’s just an opinion.

Agree with a few things…womens mma does need more knockouts and weight class does have a big impact on this ….but knockouts aren’t everything. imo the womens fights so far were fkin awesome and upstaged alot of the mens fights… Id pay 60 for a ppv to see Tate fight with her bamalamas out…but there are women fighters that i just dont wanna see their pecks. on top of that it would degrading.. esp for such high calibre athletes… thanks for the lols matt… yer still a boss.. nothing shocking here… (sensitive face)

    lolllllllllllllll…good for him

  8. SlipSlap says:

As a former pro (ish) female MMA fighter I am deeply offended by Matt’s comments. He fails to mention the fact that we highly skilled female MMA fighters also like to fight, naked, in jello.

Pfft get over it. Men like tits. As do I as it happens…

  9. Walter D. Camacho says:

Well, way to use the 1st ammendment…Its ok though. I personally think some women fighters are more technically skilled than him anyhow. Hell, one of the better fights I’ve seen, Rousey vs. Tate II, was because of White deciding that WMMA was a good investment. Fortunately, WMMA is actually very successful, unlike many other women sport leagues.

  10. Hingle McCringlebery says:

    Tell that to Cyborg.

  11. N1CK says:

This guy just said what everyone was thinking. Take a look at a google image search of almost any female fighter in the UFC. What do you see? Nude or semi nude and sexual poses in different magazines and interviews. If the women took it more seriously maybe so would the men, but until then who wouldn’t want to see that? Brown said it best, “It’s like the kardashian’s coming on.”

like it’s the ****ing Kardashians coming on.

  12. N1CK says:

Does this look like Miesha Tate wants to be portrayed as a great UFC fighter, or a sex icon?

  13. Bo Guss says:

Hmmmm…I dare you to take a shot from Chris Cyborg, Matt. Then say again, “no power”. lol Power is all about physics. A 130lb guy or girl, using proper punching technique, can knock out bigger guys than them. It doesn’t take a lot to knock someone out. But it does take timing, technique, and hitting the right spot.
