Though still not officially announced, the UFC Fight Night that will be held in Brazil this coming March has begun to build its fight card. MMA Informativo first reported news that flyweights Scott Jorgensen and Jussier Formiga are the latest to join the event.
Also reported to face off at UFC Fight Night 38 are middleweights C.B. Dollaway and Cezar Ferreira, and light heavyweight Fabio Maldonado and Gian Villante.
Scott Jorgensen (14-8) is coming off a loss at UFC on FOX 9 when he made his debut at 125 lbs. It was Jorgensen’s 4th loss in his last 5 fights, bringing his UFC record to 3-4. During that time, however, he has faced some of the UFC’s best bantamweights in Urijah Faber, Renan Barao and Eddie Wineland. Against Formiga, Jorgensen will be looking to put himself on the winning track in the flyweight division.
Jussier Formiga (15-3) came into the UFC with an impressive record of 14-1, but he has had a slow start inside the Octagon earning one decision victory and suffering two TKO losses. His most recent fight ended in a first-round TKO loss to Joseph Benavidez in September.
The card, as mentioned earlier, is still to be announced. It is expected to take place on March 23 in Natal, Brazil, though details have not been confirmed.
