Sarah Kaufmann | I Think Ronda Rousey Is A Great Stylistic Fight For ME
“The fight between Ronda and myself is a huge fight and I think it’s a great stylistic fight for me. You know what Ronda’s going to do. Ronda knows what I’m going to do. It’s going to be who can do it better and I honestly don’t see her doing it better than I’m going to do to her. So I’m looking for that title to come back to Victoria.”
The former female bantamweight champ, Sarah Kaufmann is chomping at the bit to get her hands on newly crowned champ, Ronda Rousey.
Having already been skipped over for her title shot in favor of Rousey vs. Tate, Kaufmann went out against Alexis Davis and put on a major barn burner of a fight to earn her spot as the Strikeforce number one contender.
The two female bantamweights will likely square off next, but as she points out the winner will likely depend on whose gameplan prevails.
Will Kaufmann be able to bully her way into a stand up war or will Rousey use her Olympic medalist Judo to toss her all over the place?

She’s not hot. Plus Ronda is gonna tear her up. Never seen her fight though.
Kaufman has pretty clean stand up. Her hands are always up and she throws a mean one, two. The deciding factor for this fight is whether or not she can dance around the cage. She doesn’t want Ronda to grab a hold of her for the obvious reasons.
You know, I find it interesting that there are so many who label Rousey “the one trick pony” when Kaufman can easily be described as a traditional boxer with a decent sprawl. Sarah has ZERO ground game and if she allows Ronda anywhere near her…..she’ll be devoured within the 1st minute.

I don’t necessarily think Rousey is a “one trick pony.” Problem is we haven’t really seen what her full capabilities are yet. But if she can continue taking the fight to the ground even though her opponents know it’s coming, then there’s really no reason to change the game plan.
She has solid wrestling and is a purple belt in bjj i think….someone with ZERO ground game is someone like you, who has never trained a day in his life
I find it interesting that you can say she has Zero ground game when she is a BJJ brown belt.

Kaufman has some great hands, but I dont see Ronda staying in the pocket. Ronda seems to be a little more explosive as well.
I think a lot of peoper forget (or never knew) that Kaufman slammed her way out of an armbar in a fight and KO’d the girl in the process….so I think there is a chance for a victory for her.

If she manages to keep it standing she does have a good chance, cause Rousey’s striking didn’t impress me one bit.
Tate’s striking wasn’t great and Rousey’s was even worse, it looked like two soccer mom’s fighting on black friday…

As manly and brutal Cyborg was in the stand up, Rousey is equivalent in grappling.
Rousey has already fought women with good stand up. Budd and Tweet have solid MT backgrounds. That didn’t stop Rousey from demoing their arms inside of a minute. Kaufman, who I think is cute…lol, may have good hands but doesn’t have the greatest footwork. She is slow and plodding. Unless she can KO Rousey with one punch, which I doubt, she is going to get clinched up against the cage and thrown/tripped down to the ground. Once there….
