Ryan Jimmo vs. Igor Pokrajac added to UFC 161 | UFC NEWS
The UFC 161 card, headlined by interim Bantamweight Champion Renan Barao, has announced the Light Heavyweight match-up between Ryan Jimmo and Igor Pokrajac.
Jimmo (17-2) is coming off a disappointing Unanimous Decision loss to James Te Huna at UFC on FUEL TV 7. He dominated the first round and was close to finishing Te Huna early in that round. Jimmo was unable to finish him, and Te Huna survived the round. It was his first loss since 2007, and broke his 17 fight winning streak.
After losing three of his first four fights in the UFC, Pokrajac (25-10) reeled off three impressive victories in a row. Unfortunately, he is now in another rough patch losing his last two fights. His most recent loss came at the hands of Joey Beltran at UFC on FX 6 by Unanimous Decision. Pokrajac is in a definite must-win situation going into this fight, a third straight loss may lead to him being cut by the UFC.
Both fighters will look to get back on track, and get their names mentioned in the crowded Light Heavyweight division.
UFC 161 is scheduled for June 15th at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and features the interim Bantamweight Championship title fight between Renan Barao vs. Eddie Wineland. The card also has Dan Henderson vs. Rashad Evans, and Mauricio Rua vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.
