Ryan Couture to Make UFC Debut Against Ross Pearson | UFC NEWS
UFC officials announced today that Ryan Couture will make his organizational debut against Ultimate Fighter season 9 winner Ross Pearson at UFC on Fuel TV: Gustafsson vs. Mousasi on April 6 in Stockholm, Sweden.
The big question as far as Couture is concerned is whether or not his father, UFC Hall of Famer and two division UFC champion, Randy Couture will make the trip with him to be in his corner. UFC President Dana White effectively banned the elder Couture after he signed a deal with Spike TV to become a coach on the inaugural Bellator reality show and take part in other projects for the Viacom owned network.
Couture is coming off a highly controversial split decision victory over K.J. Noons on the last Strikeforce card this past January in Oklahoma. The 30-year-old Couture was out-struck in every single round, but somehow walked away with the judges decision. The win over Noons was his fourth straight and improved his record to 6-1.
Pearson recently made the move back to lightweight after splitting two bouts as a featherweight. The 28-year-old Brit coached opposite Australian George Sotiropoulos on the first ever The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes. The two coaches met in the main event of UFC on FX 4 in December with Pearson winning by 3rd round TKO.
The UFC will be making its second trip to Sweden with the first one coming in April of last year. The original card was the fastest selling European event in UFC history, selling out in just three hours. As with this card, UFC light heavyweight contender Alexander Gustafsson headlined that card as well. He defeated Thiago Silva via unanimous decision in front of a raucous crowd. This time around he will take on former Dream Middleweight Champion and former Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion Gegard Mousasi.

Please this is for the fighters it’s time someone stands up too him. Also time for someone to stand up for fighters in UFC and start a union to protect the fighters
