Rousey Wasn’t Concerned When Back Mounted But WAS Fearful Of Wardrobe Malfunction | UFC NEWS

UFC 157 was the debut of the women’s division in the organization, and the Main Event between Rousey-Carmouche was a thrilling fight. Little did they know that a few more inches and the debut of Rousey’s left breast would have caused even more headlines.

There were two instances where Rousey almost became exposed.

The first came in the beginning of the fight, when Carmouche had a full back mount on Rousey. Carmouche was able to get a tight neck crank on Rousey. At this point Rousey’s top started to pull down. Her left nipple was dangerously close to being exposed to all the fans in attendance, and to the viewers at home.

“I was thinking about my bra, actually. I kept thinking, I didn’t order this one myself, so they gave me my weigh in bra for the fight,” Rousey said at the UFC 157 post-fight presser. “If you look back, I was adjusting myself at one point while she was on my back. Multitasking!”

The second instance was after Rousey was able to shake Carmouche off her back, and she was up kicked directly in the left breast. Again, Rousey was able to keep her lady parts covered, but it was two close calls in the first women’s fight in the organization.

“On the ground I feel so comfortable. I don’t ever feel like I’m in danger, so I don’t mind taking a lot of risks. I felt fine with her on my back, I was thinking more about keeping my sports bra up while she is trying to choke me,” Rousey said. “I felt very safe and in control even though it didn’t look like that.”

Exposure of a woman’s breasts during a fight is not the type of anticipation the UFC wants fans to feel. The close calls are cause enough for the UFC to look at institution a formal dress code for female fighters. There is no need for something like this to happen in the future again, it is an easily fixed problem.

I noticed her go for a quick adjust when Carmouche was on her back. Poor thing. Blokes don’t have these issues. And neither do chicks on a lot of cultures I suppose.
