Rousey And Tate Booked Neighboring Rooms At MGM Grand Before UFC 168
What could possibly fuel the rivalry between Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate before they compete tonight at UFC 168? Well, inadvertently booking their hotel rooms right next to each other at the MGM Grand right before their rematch is something that may work. Especially while they are both cutting weight, their trainers are getting them prepared, everyone’s adrenaline is on high.
UFC President Dana White doesn’t have a problem with admitting that booking the two right next to each other was a mistake. “Anybody else on this card, it wouldn’t make a difference if their rooms were next to each other,” he told FOX Sports Live, “We had to screw up and put their rooms next to each other. It’s true.”
Apparently Tate and her corner did not appreciate the mistake, especially after the tension that occurred between the camps on The Ultimate Fighter Season 18.
“Miesha is like ‘are you serious? I’m walking outside the hotel, and these guys are mad dogging me already,'” White said. “So we switched rooms and put Miesha in another wing of the hotel.”
Rousey went on ESPN Sports Center to shed some light on her side of the story.
“We discovered last night that they actually put Miesha in the room right next door to me. I didn’t see her, but my coach passed her boyfriend on the way out. Thankfully, Mr. Caraway was hiding behind a baby so my coach didn’t do anything,” Rousey said.
“Later that night we heard vaccums going on at 2 a.m. so I’m pretty sure they ran out and changed rooms. I was thinking about throwing furniture at the wall, but I actually had some stuff to do,” she added. “So before I actually thought of terrorizing them next door, they moved.”
