Rory MacDonald Injured, Ebersole Now Faces Patrick At UFC 140
Top welterweight prospect Rory MacDonald has been forced out of his UFC 140 meeting with Brian Ebersole due to an undisclosed injury suffered in training.
UFC officials broke the news this evening.
In his place comes his Tri-Star teammate Claude Patrick who was shifted from his spot on the card against Rich Attonito to fill the void left on the evening’s main card.
UFC 140 takes place December 10th at the Air Canada Center in Toronto, Canada and is headlined by a light heavyweight title fight featuring Jon Jones and Lyoto Machida.
Ebersole burst onto the UFC scene back in February as a last minute replacement against Chris Lytle at UFC 127. It was a bout he won as a heavy underdog and has since wracked off an additional win against Dennis Hallman at UFC 133.
Patrick is a Canadian based fighter representing the Tri-Star gym. The 15 fight veteran has only tasted defeat once in his entire career back in 2002 and has claimed victory in all three of his Octagon appearances. He was last seen in a decision victory over Daniel Roberts at UFC 129.
Rich Attonito, while currently left without an opponent will resume training for the event like he is fighting on it as UFC officials have confirmed they will find him a replacement.
