UFC officials are working on filling up the UFC 140 card set for December 10 and have just announced the booking of a welterweight match between top prospects Rory MacDonald and Brian Ebersole.
UFC 140 is set to take place in Toronto on December 10 from the Air Canada Centre. The bout between MacDonald and Ebersole marks the first confirmed fight on the card.
“Two of the welterweight division’s most promising contenders have verbally agreed to fight as Brian ‘Bad Boy’ Ebersole takes on Rory ‘Ares’ MacDonald December 10 in Toronto,” said UFC president Dana White.
Rory MacDonald was last seen taking out the always tough Mike Pyle this past August at UFC 133 in the very first round. The Canadian based fighter boasts an impressive 12-1 record with his only loss coming way of Carlos Condit back in June of 2010.
Ebersole burst onto the UFC scene back in February as a last minute replacement against Chris Lytle at UFC 127. It was a bout he won as a heavy underdog and has since wracked off an additional win against Dennis Hallman at UFC 133.
