Ronda Rousey Joins Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson, Matt Hughes, Matt Serra & BJ Penn This Wednesday on BJPenn.Com Radio
Prepare for a seismic shift in the world of MMA Radio as BJPenn.Com Radio makes the move from Sunday to Wednesday nights with an All-Star line-up of MMA personalities.
To help hosts Bryan Levick and Mitch Ciccarelli kick things off, UFC Welterweight Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson and his dad/head coach, Ray Thompson will be our first guests. Thompson was scheduled to face Besam Yousef at UFC 154, but injured his knee and was forced off of the card. After having surgery to repair a torn meniscus a few days ago, the ever popular Thompson will discuss his rehab and when we can expect to see him back inside the Octagon.
The baddest female on the planet will join the show, Ronda Rousey, the Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Champion will discuss what lies ahead for her. 2012 has been quite the year for Ms. Rousey, she defeated Miesha Tate in March to capture the title, appeared on the cover of ESPN The Magazine’s Body Issue and beat former champion Sarah Kaufman in just 54 seconds this past August. With UFC President Dana White’s proclamation that there will definitely be female fighters inside the Octagon, we’re sure Rousey will have plenty to say. We will also ask her about the challenge laid down by Liz Carmouche this past Sunday on BJPenn.Com Radio.
Joining us next will be the first of three straight former UFC Champions as Hall of Famer and UFC Welterweight Icon Matt Hughes will discuss whether or not we will see him fight again or will he call it a career.
Matt Serra will join his fellow Long Islander’s and the former UFC Welterweight Champion will tell us about his thriving Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Schools and if his fight against Chris Lytle at UFC 119 in September of 2010 was his last. We will also talk to him about Chris Weidman who not only has to prepare to face Tim Boetsch at UFC 155 in December, but has to rebuild after losing his home to Hurricane Sandy.
Last, but certainly not least, the man whose has lent his name to our show, BJ Penn will join us from Hawaii and discuss his upcoming welterweight fight against Rory MacDonald in December on the stacked UFC on Fox 5 card. Penn looks to be in great shape and is motivated beyond belief. The fight with MacDonald should be a classic, it’s been far too long since we’ve seen BJ in the Octagon.
Join us at 8pm Eastern every Wednesday night as we will continue to bring you the best and brightest stars of the MMA world. We will also run shows on Sunday nights after a UFC PPV or UFC on Fox card. We have shows scheduled for November 18th the night after UFC 154 and December 9th which is the night after UFC on Fox 5. Stay tuned to BJPenn.Com for news and announcements regarding the show.
