Roger Gracie Open To Bout With Tim Kennedy | Strikeforce News

By Jamie McAllister
Roger Gracie in an interview with TATAME.

Gracie is one of the best submission grappler’s in the world if not the best. However one man who would disagree with this statement is Tim Kennedy who offered a challenge via his official Twitter account.

Gracie commented on Tim Kennedy and states that in Jiu-Jitsu alone Kennedy would not stand a chance against him.

“He can say whatever he wants. He can be good on the ground, but technically I’m much better. In a Jiu-Jitsu match, he probably wouldn’t have a chance against me,”

However Gracie is well aware that Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts are two very different platforms and in his Middleweight debut he was not able to submit Keith Jardine.

“In a MMA fight, we can’t say. In my last fight, my opponent (Keith Jardine) was far away from being a black belt and I couldn’t submit him.”

Gracie defeated Jardine who had previously challenged for Luke Rockhold’s Middleweight Title and a bout against another former Middleweight contender would be something that interests Gracie.

“I guess it can be an interesting fight. Anyone in Strikeforce would do an interesting fight with me.”

  1. GET RID OF FITCH (forever) says:

I just wish Tim Kennedy would go away. he always promises how exciting he will be then he does nothing but tries to survive. Still can’t belive he walksa round at 225 and has a tough time making 185lbs. Kennedy needs to stay off the twinkies and drop to WW because he is always a foot shorter and much much smaller than most all MW he has fought. Kenndy will never make it to the UFC because they already have one war mongrol who preaches night an dday about about Bush’s war which was started by BUSH to gain control of one fifth of worlds oil. Stann and Kennedy have been too brain washed by big brother to unbderstand they were used as puppets to do dirty work for a bunch of CORRUPT politicians who wanted to control maasive oil reserves.

    • Wrestler66 says:

I imagine you will get some heat for that comment but I must say I agree with the fact that Kennedy would not make an impact in the UFC

      • GET RID OF FITCH (forever) says:

REgardless i’m pretty sure most MMA fans are tired of Stann and Kennedy alwalys talking about war

  2. blahblahblah says:

Politics are irrelevant in this particular thread. Treat it as such.
