Robbie Peralta Suspended for Marijuana Following UFC on Fuel TV 9
The UFC confirmed Tuesday night that featherweight fighter Robbie Peralta tested positive for marijuana metabolites following his performance on UFC on Fuel TV 9 back in April.
Peralta (16-4) will be suspended 6 months retroactive to April 6, the date of the infraction, and required to pass drug rehabilitation classes and a drug test before he is allowed to return to the UFC.
The program is identical to one Dave Herman completed in early April. In fact, the UFC released a statement saying, “The UFC organization has a strict, consistent policy against the use of any illegal and/or performance-enhancing drugs, stimulants or masking agents.”
The fight marked Peralta’s first loss in the UFC and the end to a 9-fight win streak. The suspension marks the UFC’s fifth fighter to be reprimanded for marijuana in the last six months alone.
