Rich Franklin Would Rather Retire Than Use TRT To Lengthen Career Due to Fan Reaction | UFC NEWS
“The public perception of TRT is that it’s cheating. The moment I said I was actually thinking about it, I started getting quite a bit of backlash.”

“I don’t believe I’ve dropped off with my speed or strength or any of that. You can’t look at my last fight and say, ‘Yeah, Rich has lost a step and is looking older.’
“When that day comes, perhaps I will consider quitting or possibly taking TRT. More than likely, in my mind, I’ll choose retirement over the necessity of TRT to continue.”
In a recent interview with ESPN, former UFC middleweight champion, Rich Franklin touched on the always controversial TRT topic.
Originally Rich came out and stated that he would use testosterone to lengthen his career, but after a huge backlash from MMA fans the Cincinnati resident changed his mind.

this is the 7th time in a row franklin will be fighting a former world champion (3-3 against those former champions). if that wasnt impressive enough, his only losses are to Machida, A. Silva(x2), Henderson, Belfort, and Griffin. That’s it. He’s arguably the nicest guy in MMA, and has 29 pro career wins, with 25 of them he finished. He should be the next member of the Hall of Fame.
