Report | With Two More Wins, The #RallyForMarkHunt May Meet It's Goal

By Jamie McAllister:
The #RallyForMarkHunt campaign may have came to an end at the post fight press conference in Sweden when UFC President Dana White told attendees Hunt would not be getting the next title shot. However the efforts of Hunt’s mob, may have had success to some degree.

Fighters Only Magazine claims to have a source close to the UFC and recently reported that Hunt had not been chosen largely due to his loss to Sean McCorkle which is seen as a major black mark on the Super Samoanā€™s record.

The Fighters Only source also claimed that the UFC was impressed by the amount of support Hunt had managed to gather.

According to the report, all of the support has not gone unnoticed at UFC HQ and Hunt now could find himself just two good wins away from earning a title shot.

Hunt faces Stefan Struve in his next outing and if victorious over Struve he would face a top 10 Heavyweight and If he wins in style he may even get the loser of Dos Santos vs. Overeem if the bout goes ahead in the first place.

If only the UFC would publicly appear to listen to its fans. We aren’t all MMA practitioners but we know what we want. 5 round main events, random drug testing and cheaper PPVs…. etc

    • Carson says:

It was a f** boring ass press conference. They might as well have sat in a rocking chair reading a book. WTF Dana, what was that about.

    • Mbjj Assassin says:

      You just stated that perfectly

    • Brett says:

What about the guys who do practise such things like wrestling, boxing, etc? We know what we want and that’s fights with interesting people. hunt is not one of those people, he beats a cheap fighter in rothwell, an over testoseroned kongo, ( who couldn’t even finish cro cop) I mean lets face it, guys like you just ruin everything, there not experienced in, because you have to have an opinion. Even if it’s a stupid one.

      • Ninja Oreo Dollop says:

I’m not sure what your getting at but my original statement was as inclusive as possible with the use of acronym MMA. Boxing and wrestling are under the umbrella of MMA. I never wanted Mark Hunt to fight JDS at this stage but if others want him to that’s fine with me that’s their opinion of a talented striker.

I strongly disagree with you sir, people like me who don’t subscribe to combat gym, care about this sport just as much as you and haven’t ruined anything. I have a background in Karate and just because I don’t train in MMA doesn’t mean I don’t know what I’m talking about. You wouldn’t tell a journalist that he doesn’t know anything about MMA would you? I’m a paying customer and know what I want from the UFC: credibility, fair pricing of PPVs and 5 rd main events. Elitism will be the death of this sport and this website.

Go gobble a knob you knob gobbler.. šŸ˜€

  2. Dick Diaz says:

he should be able to beat stefan struve… for a guy with that among of reach and height, he gets tagged way too much and he’s already been knocked out by travis browne, who probably is nowhere near as good of a striker as hunt…

  3. jbeamazing says:

if he doesn’t beat stefan struve he might have to rally for burger king manager

  4. Randall says:

It’s not gonna happen till he is a top five competitor. Any other way is just unfair to him and every one else in the UFC. Deal with it.

  5. Lol says:

He will knock out stuve then knock out next oppenant and fight for the title. Just watch faggots

  6. A.James says:

    He really did wreck Kongo.

  7. Pijan says:

How come Brock can get a title shot early but Hunt can’t? Ohh brand. Anywho, I just wanted to see Mark Hunt in the spot cause I wanted to see a stand up war. I was expecting JDS/Overeem. Shane Carwin should be returning soon, he doesn’t exactly deserve a title shot but it would be interesting. Everyone that deserves a title shot right now is fighting on the same card, in terms of healing time and whatnot it’d be best to drop JDS off the card, that way he’ll be healthy enough to face the winner of Mir/Velasquez in a month or two.
