Tatsuya Kawajiri will be coming to the UFC, sources close to the Japanese featherweight fighter reported to MMAJunkie.com.

Many American fans may recognize Kawajiri (32-7-2) from his only fight outside of Asia, a lightweight title bout against Gilbert Melendez in Strikeforce back in 2011.  Kawajiri would lose that bout, but he has since gone undefeated in his last 5 bouts with DREAM and ONE FC.

The UFC has not officially announced the signing of the Japanese veteran.  The UFC has also not given Kawajiri an opponent or date for his debut, though sources reported that the Japanese fighter wants to open his UFC career fighting in Singapore when the UFC heads there in January.

At 35 years of age, Kawajiri is a veteran of the sport, having fought a number of top-name fighters.  Though he lost to Takanori Gomi and Shinya Aoki, Kawajiri holds victories over lightweight title contender, Josh Thomson, Gesias Cavalcante and Yves Edwards.
