Report: St. Pierre Injured Before UFC 158, Set for Six Month Layoff | UFC NEWS
With another Georges St. Pierre near perfection win in the books at UFC 158, the Canadian champion has released information of an achilles tendon injury. He said the injury struck prior to his recent bout with Nick Diaz, when he tweaked his achilles in training. In addition to this now reported injury, GSP also had claimed to be sick going into the fight.
The champion’s head trainer, Firas Zahabi details his issues via google translate (From MMAMania.com):
“Fortunately, there were no tears. That said, it was very tense and very painful, but not enough to cancel the fight. Our concern was that the tendon tears during combat. For the moment, we do not know if he aggravated his injury, but it certainly will undergo treatment in the coming weeks for the tendon can heal properly.”
After coming off of a long layoff from his knee surgery, St. Pierre was able to return victoriously against Carlos Condit. After his next six month rest and rehabilitation period, St. Pierre is tentatively set to face Johny Hendricks in his next title defense.
Perhaps “Rush” is slowly losing his superhuman abilities and may not forever be the perfect fighting machine.

b.s.
He’s just SCARED of Hendricks and wants hendricks to take another fight and lose.
I couldn’t have said it better myself.
If Hendricks couldn’t dominate Carlos,, he will not beat GSP. GSP dominated Carlos, aside fm that kick. He took some shots but the win was decisive.
Carlos is a warrior. Hendricks will make a fight of it. GSP is a btr puncher than Condit. And he can nullify Hendricks wrestling, GSP is hard to get to ground. GSP in a unanimous decision. Probly in boring fashion.
LMAO…Man Diaz sucks, he couldn’t do f*** all against a injured and sick GSP!
Look here a little bit of symbolism,Goerges’ Achilles is exposed. I don’t believe for a second Goerges is pullin this off. Everytime Goerges gets touched he gets wobbled and Hendricks will touch him. The fight between Hendricks and Condit doesn’t mean shit,Condit looked way better in that fight with Hendricks. Goerges overtrains for a reason and its because everyone’s on his heels or tendons I should say.
If there’s any belt that belongs In the American grasp besides 85 it’s 70 and we”re comin to get them
Scared of what? A guy who flings a left hook wildly and looks like a damn fool doing it? A guy who takes people down and can’t do anything against them?
Did you people even watch Condit vs. Hendricks? Walking forward and flailing your hand at someone and missing isn’t impressive, neither is taking someone down only to have them pop back up or do more damage on bottom than you.
Hendricks is not ready, he has a punchers and humpers chance, big whoop I highly doubt GSP is going to get caught by either.
Obviously your disrespect is due to bias, but Hendricks closes the distance as fast or faster than GSP does and has that left ready. He uses no setups like GSP does. Do you actually think GSP is gonna jab, jab, jab, double-leg Hendricks??? If you do, I doubt its ignorance, but pure blind bias. aka Wishful Thinking for your fighter.
