Renan Barao in an interview with TATAME.
“UFC has announced that depending on who wins this one this person can get a chance at the title, but meanwhile I’m cool. If I have to fight one more time, no problem. My goal is to get the title and I’ll get there”, said Renan, studying his opponent, thinking on moving forwards all the time.
“I checked him out, watched his tapes. I know he’s a good striker, sometimes take guys down, but I’m cool with that, I’m training my stand-up, which is something I always train, I’m training my Jiu-Jitsu. God bless me, I’ll put on a great show there, that’s the goal: go for it. I’ll finish him or submit him”
Barao faces Ivan Menjivar at UFC 148 on July 7th and comments on moving closer to a title shot as well as going for the kill in his next bout.

He was ill during the Pickett fight.
Wow, he really put it to Pickett as well. I was equally impressed by his 3 round stifling of Jorgensen. Renan has a lot of talent and endless potential. I’m a big fan of a lot of the Nova Uniao guys right now. They’ve got one of the strongest teams right now IMO.
