Rampage Jackson Faults Himself For Strained UFC Relationship

“To be honest, my manager told me I need to learn to keep my mouth shut. He actually told me that this morning. I can say this … it all boils down to this: The UFC is promoting the UFC. They’re looking out for themselves. I feel like they promote their brand more than they promote the fighters. I feel them on that because anything that happens to a fighter — and [a fighter] can just be gone, get hurt — and they put all this money into promoting this fighter, then they ain’t got no product no more. I understand that. I just want the UFC to understand that I have to promote my own brand… I know I messed up the relationship by doing the movie over fighting Rashad Evans. It was my fault. I’ve got to keep it real. I did that. I messed up. I should have honored my contract and fought Rashad after ‘The Ultimate Fighter.’ … Before that Dana and I was really cool. I was really cool with the UFC, Lorenzo [Fertitta] and everybody. We were all cool, but I messed up the relationship by doing the movie and I’m aware of that.”
In a recent appearance on sherdog radio, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson places part of the blame for his issues with the UFC on himself.
Thoughts?

This mother ****ers gotta be bi polar, one day it’s this, the next day it’s that!!
I’m starting to feel sorry for him, he seems like a lost soul!
Let’s just say for good measure that Rampage had 500,000 fans 3 weeks ago. I think he might be down to 200,000 with all the bitching and complaining. I Can not listen to another quote from Rampage without throwing my computer thru a wall…
Agreed
@Magoo ,
I was going to write exactly that!!!
He is mosdeff bi-polar…no question abt that.
war rampage
Rampage is finally seeing the light. I smell an upset against Shogun!
i hope
Yeah u fukkd up now shut up and fight.. enough wit the crying like a baby shit
Just go away Rampage. I’m tired of his drama. He thinks he’s bigger than the sport
i just want rampage to shut the **** up now , seriously ****en tired of his “mma” news
At least he’s learning. He’s like a kid. Can’t really blame him.
he was wanting respect
but he lost respect
now he is on the path to gain respect
remember bushido
Please shut up Rampage. Thank you.
Rampage always says what he’s feeling at a given moment. I dig and respect that he’ll admit he’s wrong. He’s a great fighter and a colorful, emotional character. I love watching him fight.
It doesn’t mean he won’t completely change his tune in an hour and talk about how the UFC is responsible for his freakout high speed chase a few years ago.
One more sign of his bipolar disorder…
Bi-Polar much??… Yep.
Rampage is just maning up and telling it like it is. He gets pissed and runs off at the mouth and then has to come back and say sorry. No big deal. be there myself a time or two, ask my old lady.
Dude isn’t the most intelligent being in the world. He’s a man though, hes just saying wht he feels.
“never been afraid to say, whats on my mind, at any given time of day, cause ima renegade” -jay z and eminem
all you mutha****as is haters. plain and simple. dont hate cuz you aint got the talent OR THE SKILLS TO DO WHAT HE DOES. HE CAN MAKE MOVIES AND FIGHT IN THE UFC HAHAHAH GOTTA LOVE THE HATE.
I think it takes a lot of guts to admit the fault and say that he takes the blame. I am also a fighter on the Island of Saipan and I know how he feels. I had to forfeit my fight in order to take care of my grandma cause she has stage 4 cancer. Now every time I check the fight card they take my name off. I feel like I’m not allowed to fight her any more.
I hope things get better for you Dan.
Well if they knew your circumstance and they are taking u off the fight cards as some sort of punishment for pulling out of the fight to tke care of your grandma then they are some heartless assholes and you shouldn’t waste your time giving them the honor of having your services. Sorry to hear about your grandma bro I hope everything works out for u and your family. Keep your head up
*Back pedal back pedal*
All u people bitching about rampage bitching, shut the **** up. Y’all sound worse than be does. Nothing is making y’all read all the shit he says so if ur tired of reading it quit clicking the ****ing link u bunch of morons. I never seen so many dumb people on one website in my life
so basically you’re crying about people crying over another man’s bitching, and you’re telling them that no one’s forcing them to read it, yet you go out of your way to make a post about it.
lol the amount of irony in your post is ****ing incredible.
What in my post gives u the impression I’m crying about anything? I started reading the comments thinking maybe somebody had something interesting to say and I was shocked at all the hating and bitching that I saw. Unlike the people that commented on this article I didn’t have a description to give me an idea of what I was about to read cause if I did I would’ve stopped before I read them. The people that comment on this article knew exactly what they were about to read but they read it anyway them complained about what the read. Fair enough?
me too, i was hoping it’d be insightful.. but usual complaining. i would like to see a bit more positivity.
Can u say bi-polar?!
Yes, you’re 4th one to do so. Perhaps all you quick witted “bi-polar” comments should have stuck it under the 1st guys post.
But can you say bi-polar?
Before erryone that hates on him spews they shud walk a mile in his shoes, cuz none of u have the slightest clue of what he’s going thru until u do.
I myself speak my mind on a daily basis and get ridiculed for it. I feel you rampage. Some things are better kept to ourselves but I believe it takes a real man to admit fault.
You can’t all sit there taking shit when you don’t know what he’s going through. I think he’s being honest and the UFC does some shady shit-especially if you have pissed them off before. Its a monopoly on MMA because all other circuits are bullshit at this point and here’s a guy getting ****ed by the system.
Finally the guy is talking some sense. You are a big name, but you are not bigger than the UFC itself – a difficult lesson that Fedor had to learn. Sounds like he has a smart manager.
Rampage act’s like he does because he lacked a father figure. He need’s medication and therapy asap.
And a hug!!! but not too tight or he might tap.
Maybe now he’ll shut his mouth and actually put all this energy into fighting a decent fight and maybe winning somthing…..
I think Rampage may actually be bi-polar.
