Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante vs. Igor Pokrajac set to fight at UFC Fight Night 32
The UFC announced on Thursday that Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante would fight Igor Pokrajac on November 9th at UFC Fight Night 32. The former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Cavalcante will be looking for his first win since joining the UFC.
Feijao has great hands and looked very impressive in his MMA career with all of his 11 wins coming by way of KO or TKO. On August 21, 2010 Cavalcante defeated Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal by TKO to win the Strikeforce Light Heavyweight championship. Since winning the title in 2010 though, Cavalcante has hit a bit of a bumpy road with only 1 win, 2 loses and a no-contest do to a failed post-fight drug test.
Cavalcante’s first fight in the UFC was against Thiago Silva on June 8th 2013 where he lost by KO in the first round but the fight was given the “fight of the night” award.
Igor Pokrajac came into the UFC in 2009 losing his first two fights inside the octagon. Then Igor won 4 of his next 5 fights dating up to May of 2012. He lost to Vinny Magalhaes at UFC 152 by submission and his next fight was originally a decision loss to Joey Beltran but was overturned to a no-contest because Beltran tested positive for a banned substance. Igor’s last fight was against Ryan Jimmo where Igor lost a decision at UFC 161 in June of 2013.
Both fighters will look to turn things around inside the octagon and work their way up the ladder inside the UFC when they fight at UFC Fight Night 32.
