Quick Twitt | Rampage Needs Double Knee Surgery, Shogun Fight On Hold

Two important items of note just happened surrounding Quinton “Rampage” Jackson” target=”_blank”>Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.
The first of which and most important is that he has been forced on the sidelines due to double knee surgery and because of that his farewell to the UFC bout against Mauricio “Shogun” Rua is put on hold.
The second of which is that Rampage made good on his promise to never fight injured again and has apparently opted for double knee surgery to repair bout his knees.
The UFC announced this past Tuesday, after a long campaign by Jackson to be released, that they will allow him to leave the promotion following one more fight. They put together a rematch between him and Rua and put the wheels in motion to grant Jackson his wish.
One now has to wonder if this matchup will happen at all. Shogun is a very injury prone fighter himself and while he is currently healthy, that does not mean that he will stay inactive until the return of Rampage and if he opts to take an opponent while waiting there is no guarantee he can stay healthy and in fighting shape.

About damn time! I bet he has had injured knees this whole time.
Shogun should take another fight instead of waiting. I hope against the winner or loser of Gustaffson vs Silva.
this is bullshit you cant book a fight and get the fans excited and then say rampage needs surgery on both knees. not only is rampage a dud himself he is now putting one of the most exciting fighters on hold. i call this fight never eventuates and it turns out be a waste of the ufc and shoguns time
His fight with Rampage wasn’t even scheduled yet so it’s all good.
Have you ever even been in a fight or trained for one?? didnt think so.. Training and what comes with it are way more than the key stokes and masterbating u do…..try it and you will shut your mouth kid
Might as well get them done now while the UFC medical insurance will pay for it!!
Lol
Thats probably his reason for doing it now too!
Whats the point? Shogun will just devastate whatever knees he have left after his surgery… And anyways, he doesn’t even check kicks in the first place! He’s getting his excuses ready for his next loss…
Good.
I love Rampage but it’s annoying that he lost to Bader, yet still managed to still move up the ladder and get a fight with shogun, just for being loud.
I’m pickin shogun now cuz u know rampage is gonna suck in his first fight after surgery
hes faking it to roid up lol just playing rampage was right tho when he talked about his ufc match making would of liked more stand up battles the ones he has had are contributed to the great take down d this man posses like in that matt hamill fight he stopped hamill in the double digits of take down attempts shogun should be perfect for rampage hendo too
so.. anyone else think he’s gonna love taking extra trt and other substances to “heal” up after this! lol
Well, and after all that hype…
i am the smartest man alive!!!!!
Shogun vs Machida 3 bring it.
Do you want Machida cut?
Rampage didnt think about surgery before the fight was set? ENOUGH EXCUSES RAMPAGE! UFC should just cut him, he’s not the draw he used to be. His heart is just not in it anymore.
Rampage is scurred,
I knew he wouldn’t fight Shogun.
‘
(I’d be scared too if I got my face kicked in like that)
It seems like Rampage wants to force their hand. I think he might want to fight Shogun with a different promotion so the UFC can’t make money off it.
We all know you heal fast taking trt
damn, that sucks… was really looking forward S H O G U N putting a whoopin’ on.
