well from the uk you have to be a little carefull, as really the influx of black people from carribean background was due to the windrush era after the war where british goverment drafted black westindians into the country to help rebuild.
they were given rights to stay here after they helped rebuilt the econamy and so it began. it was very different to the immigration of today.
black people from westindian decent definately did contribute to the british society of today and was respected by the government. these colonies in the caribs were british at the time
